in what way do you consider them unfair??

Reply 2

a-levels are unfair if you let them be!! - just relax and work with your teachers and they'll be the best thing ever!!!

hey arent you the bum girl?

They're far more 'fair' than some other exams. In America the SATs give them less control over what they can do, and with the IB you have to carry on with maths, a language, etc. At least with A levels you have a really wide choice of what to do, and to some extent a choice in how many you can do.

You only have to get 80% for an A in most of the exams (which is pretty fair, I think) and at AS-level people are told very clearly that resitting is an option if things go wrong.

What's your beef?

The SAT's (I) in the USAthe pupil has no choice in what it is Mathmatics ( all mupile chiice )and English (essayand mulipule choice).
The SATII there are sveral subjects to choose from ( not nearly the number that there at A-Level).

Reply 6

Are SAT's easier than A levels? I heard they were.

Reply 7

Yes SAT's are more then likely easier then the A-Levels (I say this because our eduction system is prettybad). The SAT's only cover some Algerbra II.

Reply 8

A levels themselves are ok, it's just the stupid mark schemes that I hate.

Reply 9

I think A levels are alright

Reply 10

Yeah, SAT I is easier than A-levels... As far as I know, most people don't take SAT II, since it's not a requirement to get into college/uni, so I have no idea how hard that is.

I just think most of the time the teachers do not even know what the hell the examiner is looking for, some subjects like MEDIA are far, FAR easier than others.....and they just do not accurately portray a person's knowledge and understanding of that subject.

They are more like a memory test and it gets on my fat stinking tits.

Thanks for the visual... i rather liked thinking of you as a peachy person though

Reply 13

The SAT I is an aptitude test rather than a subject exam. The SAT IIs are like subject-aptitude tests rather than proper exams.

They do APs which are kind of similar to A Levels. They also do IB.

Reply 14

Yes in the USA the closest thing to the AS+A2 = A-Levels(The full A-levels are two years) are the AP courses/exams (are only one year) but only about 10% of high school students take the AP courses/exams. So you can not really compare any exams that we have in the USA.

Reply 15

In a level science subjects you have to be so precise to get the marks tahts why i wish we had multipull choice.
