Online GCSE

Our school has made everyone take an online exam, half literacy and half numeracy, to make an extra whole GCSE for everyone. Does anyone know if these are respectable or make a difference or what? Because it took me half an hour to do a multiple choice comprehension for literacy and had no problem. It seems a bit strange that something so simple can be worth half a GCSE when other GCSEs you have to work for a whole 2 years to pass.

Erm...that sounds quite dodgy to me. What's the actual title of the GCSE? You mean they just randomly sat you down infront of a PC and you did it, without warning or anything? Doesn't sound like much of a qualification, no offence. ? Quite strange! But, hey, I guess you should be pleased! Maybe your school's doing a pilot scheme for something they want to introduce at a later date...or maybe, it's not really a GCSE at all, they just told you that so you'd put more effort in on the test!

Anyway, I've never ever heard of anything similar, so I'm not sure it sounds all that respectable. But, hey well done for doing well.

No they told us about it. It was on Edexel I think. The program was run through something called "exam base client" whatever that is. And apparently they come up to an extra GCSE. Duno what the title is, it's just literacy and numeracy. But if I now get 10 GCSEs instead of 9 i'm nt complaining I guess...
