i play the recorder...own all from garkline to the bass recorder (tho i cant realy play in bass clef very well!)

I was grade 5, and then couldn't be arsed anymore.
I can play all of them, though - I just had to transcribe the treble music into descant format :p:

i used to play loads until I went to university.........stopped playing as a) was too busy and b) didn't have other players to play with...........trying to get back into it now, but its hard trying to find people!

i know how to use a recorder. i.e put tape in: press record.

i can do that at level 10 (ok, so i made that part up)

yeah, just keep goin jackie..there are loads of recorder groups (they just tend to keep their heads low!) so see if u can find one to join?

Yes, I play! I was going to take grade 8 this term, but never got round to doing the work and so didn't enter. Maybe next year . . . .

I play descant, treble, sop, tenor and bass. Did it at school so no grades, but I could sightread grade 4 stuff two and a half years ago, so I think I must be pretty decent. :biggrin:

yeah, im bout grade 6 at sight reading....if i practised i cud do more, but prefer to concentrate on betta instruments like my sax!

What's wrong with anyone watching you? :p: Recorders are actually proper musical instruments, with a long history going back centuries, and have had music written for them by many eminent composers...shame some people don't realise this! (I don't mean you, by the way...)

I get so, so irritated when people claim that they aren't 'proper' instruments! So what if they aren't orchestral? Neither are guitars, after all... :wink:

how very well said - I love my recorder - olivewood moeck (treble) gorgeous instrument - bloody pricey too!
