I'm doing an Education mock exam for sociology and I'm really stuck on a 6-mark question:

Identify three policies that government or educational bodies have introduced to overcome children's cultural deprivation.

I know what cultural deprivation is, but I'm not aware of any policies. Can anyone help?

Would EMA count? Education maintinance allowance, to allow the working class to go to uni.

"Sure start" - a new labour policy which was the coordination of health and education to get w/c children a... sure start.

Excellence in cities is another new labour reform. It targets inner city secondary schools, and disaffection and truancy within them. It offers w/c class children a learning mentor and improves vocational cources.

Hope that helps.
