There are 18 units ... D = 18 points, M = 12 points and P = 6 points.

To get DDD overall you need 252 points, which equates into 12 distinctions and 6 passes, but obviously you can get any other combination so long as you get 252 points in total.

hi, what will you need for a D*D*D, D*D*D, D*DD and DDM?

D*D*D*-15Ds and 3Ms
D*D*D-12Ds and 6Ms
D*DD-9Ds and 9Ms
DDD-5Ds and 13Ms
DDM-2Ds and 16Ms
That is if your units are 10 credits units
old system
D-18 M-12 P-6
18*18=324 DDD
18*12= 216 6*6=36
216+36=252 (DDD)* Highest 3D possible
18*3=54 12*15=180
54+180=234 DDM

New system
9*10=90 8*10=80 7*10=70
90*2=270 80*16=1200
180+1280= 1450 DDM
90*5=450 80*13= 1040
450+1040=1490 DDM

90*15=1350 80*3=240
1350+240=1590 D*D*D*
90*18=1620 (D*D*D*) ** Highest 3D*

This is the document I've been working all of mine from. I've now prioritised my units, aiming for at least 7 Ds and 11 Ms which should put me fairly safely in the DDD bit, and I'll add more on to it if I have time

I think it is ridiculous people can get DDD without even having mostly Ds. So far I have 12/12 Ds.

That just means you get *s after your Ds then. You still get a higher grade for all Ds than you do for 7 or 8

Unfortunately these *s have no value.

I agree! It's ridiculous you can get DDD without getting mostly D's!
So I'll get 18D's and get D* x3.
But someone else could get 3D's and 15M's and get a DDD.
Well thats a kick in the nuts!
Do university see what you achieved for each unit?

Ah, didn't realise that, I assumed you got a few UCAS points for your stars. Universities do see your units if you put them in adding the qualification to your application

I'm not sure what you are on about with 3Ds and 15Ms being DDD (which it isn't) it is 6D's and 12M's don't try to argue.
