Shia's often beat them selves in rememberance of Hassan and Hussain. Im sure you know what i am referring to.
is that wrong?
i think so, coz in Islam one is not allowed to mourn for the dead while screaming, shouting or cursing, and in particular, beating ones chest...
Shia's hurt them selves with chains etc. till they bleed!
im really confused...

do not refer to ghost stories as jokes, or take them lightly.
just as we have to believe in angels, we have to believe in Jinns too.
who knows, those 'far fetched' stories could actually be true! and if you make fun of them, it willl mean you are mocking Allah.
if you are not sure that they are valid or not, just ignore them.

Indeed, which is why i said they sometimes aren't funny. Although i don't think Milli laughing at 'enchanted rose petals' is that a big deal... I wasn't criticising her or anything. Neither was i taking them likely, after some of the things i've heard... (Not only in Islam but others who believe in possession)

Wa Alaikum Salaam bro. I don't think it's right, but i wouldn't call em non-muslims for it.

Ayaz people do make up stories or over exaggerate. It doesn't necessarily mean i have to believe every Jinn story.

my friends cousin was telling me she went to her friends wedding, who was either an ahmedi or shia, and everytime muhammads (pbuh) name was mentioned (i think it was his name-my memory fails em once again) everyone got up and beat themselves! even the bride. very bizarre she said.

another jinn posession story:
back in bangladesh, my aunt got possessed by some jinn. then she started saying some weird stuff like how her name is chandra (a hindu name) which it isn't (im presuming therefore that the jinn was a hindu jinn)

Well, i'd like to know what he meant at that... I don't believe in a 'hindu Jinn' i just believe in Jinns. Why the label?

The ^o) smiley means i'm curious but also skeptical :p: Of course open to further explanation
