this might sound stupid... but what is the difference betweeen distribution and abundance???? :confused:

an example would help !!

I think distribution involves the amount/numbers in relation to an area, where as the abundance is just the amount/ numbers.

E.g. Look at the dots below

..... .. .. . .
.... . .. .. . . . .
....... . ... . . . .

Distribution: the dots are unevenly distributed because there are more dots on the left than right
Abundance: the amount of dots

I hope I've got this right!

Abundance: how many there are
