Which Uni / Course will add the most?

I've checked the university tables (Times and Guardian) but I am in more interested in what employers perceive to be the best and which will add the most in terms of employability. My undergrad degree is from an arts background.

For my masters (taught) in Business/Management I've chosen the following and want to know which would be best in terms of employability. So it's basically a way up of the rep. of the uni as a whole and the business school and how this equates to employers. All the courses I have chosen are very similar, a MSc (International) Business or Management. All the courses at the stated unis are speficially for those with a non business background.

Bath Uni
Nottingham Uni
Kings College London
Lancaster Uni
Loughborough Uni
Manchester Uni

Appreciated

None of those do what am after which is a generalist business or management masters. The exceptions are LSE but they are too expensive as they charge 16k tuition for the MSc Management to UK students. I did consider Aston as they have a great business school but am concerned that there overall ranking (just outside top 20) as a university maybe of concern.
dude,

i too want to find out what employers think, screw the ratings
I've applied to postgrad courses in finance at

Nottingham
Sheffield
Exeter
Aston
Birmingham
Southampton

At the moment i hear Aston and Nottingham are at the top for employability and reputation in the business area.
I'd like info on sheffield and bham, but even more on exeter and southampton.

cheers

I am currently torn between either Bath or Nottingham.

The masters at Bath is excellently structured and really tailored towards employability. I've heard that Management Consultancies and related sectors have a very good relationship and connections with Bath Uni.

Again Nottingham has great links with industry and the international aspect of the course allows you to experience companies in the USA. Plus you get to take certain electives abroad.
Bath is very good quality. Didn0t apply cause they didn't have anything in finance.
Warwick is excellent too, but for finance programme its £ 15k for EU students

I'm betting on Nottingham at the moment.

Which would be better for someone from an Art background?

Bath Uni, MSc Management (possibility to add a specialism like finance, HR, IT, Operations etc)

Nottingham Uni, MSc International Business (certain electives can be taken involving study abroad principly USA)

If you're aiming at management consulting, I would definitely say go for Nottingham over Bath. Nott has an excellent reputation with most of the top consulting companies in the UK: McKinsey, Bain, BCG, etc. You can email them yourself if you like an ask whether they regularly recruit at Nottingham or Bath.

Of course, they always take some Bath people every year, but it's not targetted by the top MCs the way Nottingham is.

If however you're looking at financial industry jobs, Bath might be the better way to go, it depends who you talk to.

How good is CASS's (CITY) MSc in Management and what are the employment propects like.

I personally don't rate City Uni.

For a home student Msc Management costs £16,000 at City Uni compared to £6,000 at Bath and £6,500 for an equivalent course at Nottingham

hmmm Cass is not famed for management, more in specialised courses like investments, banking, real estates etc. 16000 sterling for management MSc in Cass is not the best course in cass because investment and banking MScs cost even more.

I would go for LBS if you had the experience, knowledge and money obviously but otherwise outside london oxford, cambridge for management =D but then again they top the fee cost more than cass. so erm lets say the fee value dicates how good the MSc is for you most of the time.
If you're a foreign student who wants to work in the UK after you graduate, you should also be aware that the government has instituted a new policy to give automatic work permits if you get an MBA from certain UK schools.

I think some of the UK MBA courses that are part of the plan are:
Oxford
Cambridge
CASS (City)
Cranfield
Ashridge
Manchester

Can't remember the rest, I think there are four more. You should check the UK work permit website. I think doing an MBA at one of the listed schools and getting the automatic work permit would be better value than doing an MSc Management if you could get in.
