Dry skin? Mine is really dry today :frown:
perkyDani
i hav suddenly noticed, as i was examining my skin really closely, that i can see these scales on my legs and hands, which look dry and with whitish borders, but if I move like half a metre away i cant see them,
is this normal?? am i being stupid? iv never seen scales on other ppls skin but maybe iv just never looked closely enough

you may have dry skin. You could be lacking in vitiman A (oranges, carrots, peaches and vegetables are good for this)

Also, are you drinking enough water? You should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. (However, people confuse this by drinking alot in one go, which your body can't hold and if you exceed this level it will be flushed straight through your sytem)

Stay away from salty foods and caffiene.

edit: oh yeah, and remember to exfoiliate to get rid of dead skin on the surface.
Unlucky, this happens to various teenage girls.

Effectively, you are turning into a fish. This is the earliest stage, but soon enough you will grow gills and have annoyingly expressionless eyes.

i have them too sometimes! it seems to be when i've had a bit of a tan and it's starting to go. it's more like flakes of skin than scales. it's like the outer layer has dried and contracted, and split in random places that make it look like scales. just exfoliate to get rid of all that dead skin, then moisturise, and it'll be fine.

You need to moisturise. Exfoliating would help and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't do it, but moisturising alone should be enough if you can't afford a body scrub as well. (you can actually make your own body scrubs really easily, but I won't go into that now unless you want to know)

A good way to moisturise is Body Shop Dry Oil Spray, which costs £6 and is really good. I don't use it every day and you need to allow a while for it to soak in before you get dressed, but it gives your skin a lovely softness and a radiant look. I especially like it because often find body lotions leave residue or make your skin look dull.
