er after asking a gay mate of mine, sounds like the same things that girls look for in guys..... he just said to stay away from the uber camp ones that are like jack from will and grace haha because all they want is WANG.... im still getting used to the fact that my friend has a boyfriend its kinda weird ...

your not ghey..just a bit poofay!
I always thought you looked for the ability to shoot lasers from their eyes and leap tall buildings in a single bound. Have I been mislead?

yes. terribly so.
They look for a bloke who is gay, yet as "normal" as possible in every other way... from what I gather from gay friends...

However, there will always be the camp ones, and these appeal to some... but "some" is mainly bi guys... or at least bi guys in denial...

Overly camp is usually said to be good for a shag but, the novelty wears off so they are no good as long-term partners... randy buggers though, them ones...

Any reason why you want to know??

Yeah my gay best mate HATES campness, but he looks for blondes, cute boy look and he prefers them skinny!

I prefer really camp guys to straight-acting, which IMHO is boring and dull. However, too in-your-face camp is irritating; I don't like it when people cause a scene and self-obsessively draw attention to themselves. Get a grip.

But anyway - as someone said, gay men want to know that someone they like is gay for starters!!

What a pointless thread btw & I dislike the negativity towards camp men, they can be camp if they want. Fairness, quality pplage. Rock on.

Yeah they can be camp if they want but usually they act camp to seem more gay to pick up more guys... like I said, randy buggers most of them

Gay guys acting straight is usually no good but... surely when a guy is OVERLY camp they kinda remind guys of GIRLS as opposed to men (which is surely what gay guys want - men)...

Campness is OK to a degree but like I mentioned earlier... do you not find that the novelty wears off after a while and it becomes... irritating??

Not really. It all depends on the person tbh. Why does campness have to be gendered anyway? Stop gendering things. Qualities shouldn't be confined to certain groups of people, even though they are in reality, we shouldn't make assumptions about someone because of an aspect of their personality.

It's like when I've mentioned I sometimes wear makeup, people were like "oohhh, whyyyy?" - why the hell not?!?!!!

Since this thread was about gay GUYS I saw no reason why we should be talking about anything other than gay males... I am by no means gendering anything... if anything, I'm the last person that CAN say something is restricted to one gender or another... anyone can be camp, but in the context of camp guys... was what I was talking about...

You wearing make-up sometimes is like me wearing boxers sometimes... people are NOT always what they seem... but in todays society, you have to accept that peope ARE going to make assumptions... and they ARE going to stick you in a box by what you do/say/how you act...

Only an individual know who he or she truely is... all we can hope for is that we convey that to the outside world as accurately as possible...

I agree
*takes deep breath*

I do apologise for that outburst... I just get annoyed when people think I'm generalising... I only generalise because thats what society does all the time...

have you ever read Susan Sontag's 'Notes on Camp'? it's a really interesting read - questions all sorts of things like that

That's a definite bonus, but not a dealbreaker.

Gay men's tastes are as diverse as straight men's tastes - so it is impossible to generalise as to what they look for.

Some like tall men - some like short men (in the same way as some straight men have a height preference)
Some like blonde hair - some like black hair

etc etc etc............
i look for...

Well, heres my luff

On the right

From the guys i've met, the jeans-around-the-ankles look appeals. As well as skater-ness.
Personally, i like anyone who is mildly attractive and has a heart...
