How come many ppl have had like amazing GCSE grades...i.e 8a* 3A....and then only managed AAAB at AS level? i got 6A 3B at GCSE....and AAAAB at AS level...but worked a hell of a lot harder for GCSEs.........

i speak from my perspective....i got 6A3B and worked hard....than at AS got 4A and 1B....so i expect ppl with like 5a* and 6As to get straight As at AS's

I guess it depends on the subjects that the person is doing. but to say only, is like you're saying it's not good; which it is.

It's ok, it's just i got those sort of GCSE grades but not the AS or A level.

Yeh, don't like the "only" bit cos i was fine with my results, but i got 7A* and 3A at GCSE then AAABB at AS..odd since i worked harder at GCSE... oh well :rolleyes:

I got ok GCSE's 3 A*, 5 A's and a B and then without any increase in work got 4 A's at AS. It's just because some people are good all round but not great at everything, whereas I'm not very good at stuff like English and French but I was pretty damn good at my AS subjects (if I may say so myself )

I got 6a*'s 5a's and ab at gcse, and for i failed my as level mocks for bio and chem, but got and a* in gcse...i reckon gcse was just much easier.
I just hope the real exams go better!
