Tbh i don't see why you would want to fail your exams. Lots of A2 students have UMS fall-backs.. but they are there if you completely screw up your exams, not so you can sit on your arse and do nothing, and then just scrape the grade you wanted.

Just not the right attitude, in my book. Also i bet that you'll be disappointed come results day, if you don't work hard now. Because you know you could have done so much better.

I think I've managed to work out that I can fail the rest of my exams and still get a C in Further Maths. Could someone check my working and confirm the assumptions I've made? By the way I'm happy with a C because I suck at FP2 and FP3. My next exams are FP1, FP2 and FP3 on 17th, 19th and 23rd.

My current results:

For my Maths A-level I need C1-4 + 2 additional modules, so i'll choose my two worst, S2 and D1...

100+97+92+71+60+60=480 which is exactly 80% of 600 so I'll get an A for Maths if I acheive D's in S2 and D1.

My modules for FM are: FP1, FP2, FP3, S1, M1, M2

70+2x+100+81+79=330+2x

to get a D I need 50% overall so 330+2x=300, x is -15
So I need to average -15% in FP2 and FP3 to get a D
to get a C I need 60% overall so 330+2x=360, x is 15
So I need to average 15% in FP2 and FP3 to get a C
to get a B I need 70% overall so 330+2x=420, x is 45
So I need to average 45% in FP2 and FP3 to get a B
to get an A I need 80% overall so 330+2x=480, x is 75
So I need to average 75% in FP2 and FP3 to get a A

Why don't you aim for the 45%/75% averages and get the A/B!
