referral to dermatologist taking ages - should I just call them?

Hey got a small acne breakout, at the time it was nothing too bad. GP told me they would refer me to a dermatologist at my local hospital.

I assumed that when you get a referral you just wait for that doctor to contact you, right?

Well, this was over a month ago and the breakout has gotten worse. I haven't received any correspondence. Should I just call the hospital and request an appointment?

I got a letter through the door with a phone number to call the hospital to arrange an appointment, cant remember how long the letter took to come though. Like dignity said, try contacting your doctor, or I guess you could try the hospital, no harm in trying ;-)

ring, ring and ring again.

ring your doctors to see if they've sent the referal, ring the hospital to see if they've received the referal.

dont give up untill youve got the answer you want.

iv found that nothing tends to get done in this world unless you do things yourself and chase everything up!!
