Well, I don't know if anyone else here has read Michael Crichton's Sphere (and if not, why not?!? ). Anyway, I was reading it again the other day, and I'm wondering about the ending. *Spoiler ahead if you haven't read it before!* At the end, when they forget the sphere, Norman says something like "you look beautiful, Beth". Now, we know that Beth is normally very masculine, and only looked beautiful when she had the power the sphere gave. Also, IIRC, she protested quite a lot against them forgetting about the sphere and the power it gave them. Thirdly, we also see the entire story from Norman's point of view - third person, but still only seeing Norman's thoughts and actions, so we never see what Harry/Ted/Beth/Barnes etc are thinking. So, what I'm getting at is, does anyone else think that maybe Beth didn't forget about the sphere, and so still has the power? We only truly know that Norman forgot it, as we only see his perspective, so we have no confermation of Beth forgetting it. It's just the way we don't see her thoughts, and the way she still looks very beautiful at the end that makes me wonder. Anyway, this is probably just my tired, overactive brain going into overdrive again, but I thought it might be worth discussing with anyone else who's read the book....
