Hi all,
I'm doing criminology as part of my degree course, but I am dissatisfied with the recommmended book: Criminology by Tim Newburn. I was therefore wondering what is the best criminology book do you think?

Cool! Is the Oxford quite easy to understand? I found Tim Newburn rather long winded and complex.

Oxford Handbook has different chapters by many authors. I also used Introduction to Criminal Justice by Davies, Croall and Tyrer and Criminology by Hale, Wahidin and Wincup, and Youth Crime and Justice by Muncie. Theyre good books to look at.

Great! Given their cost, I would preferably like to buy only one of them, so which do you think, out of the 2 is the most comprehensive?

A lot will depend on what modules you are studying. If you go onto amazon and type the titles in, you should be able to get a breakdown of what chapters cover.

Well, it's just Criminology in general. I'd just like something that's fairly succint and not too hard to understand.

I got both Newburn and that Oxford one and tbh Newburn is a lot more easier to understand IMO.
