well, we are not advised to give u numbers or any contact details like home adress either ... and meeting on non-lse places, wayyyy to dangerous!!

Why would anyone want to give out their address

The student mentoring system is (unfortunately) a joke.

What should happen:
Your mentor contacts you to meet up individually during the first week. Afterwards he's the first person you go to if you have any problem, from picking modules to depression and stress.

What actually happens:
Your mentor tells you a time when he's free to see the whole group in Starbucks. After a few awkward phone calls ('What do you look like?') you sit down. Only 30% have turned up. Even though you're all students here and the Mentor is just some guy who can give you advice the tension in the air is thiiick. You leave and never speak to him again.

It'll work just come in wearing an LSE t-shirt and an LSE hoodie and an LSE bag.

Yes if you ask for it back before 1st September

https://lfylive.lse.ac.uk/lfy/tc/enquiries/enquiry.html?a=4&q=37100

And stop worrying, you'll get in.

I took an LSE ball and three LSE pens and an LSE Oyster card holder at the Visit Day LOL:rofl: I should have taken more pens...I looked on the LSE shop website and they are selling them for £1.35

Cool, hopefully I won't have to ask for the money back. :frown:

omgggg, just saw the cabridge offer holder chat thread, and they already got their 3rd (!) one ... pfffff, okay, i know cambridge i like tons of different colleges put together, they teach also sciences but seriously, we are just on page 15!!!

we def need more span and excitement ... like the application thread. oooooh yeah, good times...

and i loved when they asked about my opinion on time to receive an offer ... hahahaha, i most def would have never signed in to tsr if it wasnt for panicing about lse ...

oh, and i just went to lse homepage (cuz im at work but my chef seems to have disappeared so i have nothing to do right now) aaaand read about that mentoing thing http://www.lse.ac.uk/collections/studentServicesCentre/OrientationUg/schoolWideMentoringScheme.htm
hahahaa, it amuses me how we are not suppoed to tell them ANY personal details ... yeeeah, evil lse mentor could be creeps you met in the internet, so dont get close!! (its just okay to talk to them via lse-email account ... )

LSE is very small compared to Cambridge, plus the LSE offers 2009 was TSR legendary :p: so much drama on the Fridays and all that speculation whether it will be 'rejection Friday' or 'offer Friday' lol! Plus, everybody hating on Beef_eater for talking rubbish.

I just had a look through the leaflet on the website and what :lolwut: It's all written in kiddy font and has pictures to make you feel nice but the 'Ground Rules' omg they're stricter for you than they are for us. Waaaaaay over the top.

I know wtf £1.35 for a pen is ridiculous. Umbrellas are like £5 and break the first time you open them.

When you're at Freshers Fayre, though, get as many society pens as possible  I recommend the Business Society's ones

Wow I just had a look it's actually £1.47 :afraid: http://www.shop.edirectory.co.uk/lseshop/919/mia/d/lse+ball+point+pen/pid/4988047

Hopefully I'll make it to LSE as a fresher if so I'll look out for the Business pens. :frown:

£1.47 is extortionate.

Omg how depressing is this:

Well, I've got all my contact details, a copy of my AS Results, pens and paper, my Personal Statement and a list of questions to ask if I need to telephone the LSE.

I don't know why, I'll have never got in now.

soooo, excuse me for being an uninformed foreigner here haha, but could someone explain to me how the admissions process works in the UK? for LSE, I just had to turn in an application w/ my grades, writing sample, letters of rec, ect. i see that a lot of people are waiting for their last grades, does that mean that most people don't 100% know where they are going yet? sorry for the simple question, this stuff is probably second nature to you guys, but im curious haha.

Yeah for the people that took their exams this summer, they got conditional offers, so If they don't get the grades they don't get it(unless they beg and convince the admissions people), So if they don't get it, they will either have to go for their 2nd choice university(if they got the grades for that offer) or look for another university in record time through the clearing system where uni's put up the courses that still have places left!.

LOL PS? I can't bear to look at mine, let alone read it...it makes me cringe, but the admissions tutor obviously liked it (he/she probably found it funny....which is unintentional  ).

Are you gonna send for remarks if you miss a grade? I will have to find out what number I need to call if I need to tell them if I want to remark.

We apply before we get our grades, and we get given offers conditional on getting certain grades (eg AAA) we get our grades tomorrow. Scary! :woo:

I think I would prefer applying after we get our grades, then there wouldn't be all this pressure.:frown:

Are you on the General Course?
Reply 278
how come the UK people get their grades tomorrow?

the international students here in malaysia (who took cambridge a-levels) got our results on the 10th.

and in that case, good luck everyone. =)
