No way in hell you'll find anywhere for under 20 quid unless you are prepared to have a student do it, even if you go up the Cowley Road :frown:

The Cowley Road (and the area surrounding the roads that go off it) is where the black and Asian community of Oxford live, not to mention the majority of the students living out in their 2nd / 3rd year. It's where you get all the cool and random takeaways. Basically, it's the cheapest bit of Oxford-proper (i.e. Oxford as opposed to e.g. Blackbird Leys - although I reckon you could get a haircut there for <£15... but then you'd have to factor in the bus fair and it'd cost 20 quid anyway!)

oooh great! I think i'll google around to see if I can find a persian takeaway, yum! Whereabouts is Blackbird Leys? All i know is that there's a pool round there right? Thanks for all the help by the way!

Hmmm Persian might be one of the few I've not seen. Lebanese, Greek, Polish, Jamaican, Caribbean and Brazilian are all up for grabs though! Blackbird Leys is further east than the Cowley Road. You get there on a number 1 or 5 bus. I think the 10 and 12 might go that far too... And yes, there is a pool

At the Redken salon on Little Clarendon you can a) get students for a fiver, b) go in and ask for someone newly qualified and it's £12.

I always ask for a guy named Martin- and as he gets more experienced the price for him to cut my hair goes up, but I still think last time it was only £18. It might have gone up again actually because that was a while ago. Even the first time I went in and asked for whoever was available quickest I only had to pay £24.

Oxford cheaper than London. Yayy.
Im from london and seeing as there wont be many black barbers in Oxford ill be cutting mine at my home barbers for a fiver lol.

There's a barber next to Tesco on Cowley Road. It's only 15min walk from the city centre. I don't think it costs more than £15.

But, presumably, being a barber it doesn't cater for women like the OP
went to head and toe they had a deal half price for new customers! next time i'm gonna check out little clarendon! thanks guys
I'm male and I'm paying £12 now, when used to £2.50 in the North.
