Advice

i've had depression for about 6 years now and most of the time i'm ok (it was at its worse about 2/3 years ago)

But i keep having bad days.

Like today.

i can't quite explain why. all i know is i feel like i want to give up. and that scares me.

i'll be ok in a day or two. probably.

but i just . i dont know. wnat to know if its ever going to stop for good. or am i always going to have days where i feel like this? :frown:

sorry if i'm not making sense

and please dont tell me to kill myself.

believe it or not, a lot of people feel like that.. most just don't talk about it... thats why people develop coping strategies and goals to distract them from this feeling...

I get days like that. Surprisingly enough, it used to be the very first days of Summer holidays when it was incredibly sunny outside.

when you feel really bad you could try and think of all the good things that you have in your life, however small they are. like shopping, and chocolate! do you have a close friend or family member that you can talk to, because that always helps i think.

Yes those are good ideas... also having a diversionary tactic, like maybe going running or something when you're feeling particularly low. I find that helps. Try to not feel alone, because I think most people have times when they're really down... And try to smile

Focus on the positives !

Aim to look at the negatives and improve on them by devising strategies instead of getting depressed or going running ! Try to forget the past as done but look back upon it pick your mistakes aim not to redo them in future !
Im sorry you feel like this :frown:
I think most people could relate to having similar feelings at times in their lives. It must be hard to remember all the good things if there are one or two really bad things getting in the way. Dont harm yourself (dosent sound like you were planning to anyway) and write about it if it helps - having a journal has always helped me, particually a online one because then you can talk honestly about how you feel and your friends can read it and it will help them understand and when they leave comforting comments you may feel better about things.

exercise. releases body's happy hormones and you get fit in the process (and get to check out the hotties at the gym).
