Its just marketing really isnt it? I see your point, but against competitors, people need to think of any little attractive feature, and it *is* more useful to have an object that dosent get slippery when you get it wet, escpecially a sharp one like a razor.
Well let's be frank, toothbrushes etc. are all going to be pretty similar, they need something to seperate them from the competition! So why not incorporate a nifty little rubber grip!?
And i dont think it really effects anybody more than usual!
This is pretty pointless I'm just wondering... why?? It's nearly always one of the major selling points in adverts & on packages. Who cares?!
If you can't hold onto your razor without super-soft-but-hard grated rubber grips, then you probably shouldn't be shaving anyway.
2 reasons 1) gimmicky, and nice texture 2) not all people can grip as well as us young lads/lasses can. A 70 year old man still needs to shave, but might not have the grip he used to...

i once accidentally stuck a biro through the roof of my mouth because someone pushed me and it slipped out of my hand... if it had a super soft easy grip handle... i bet it wouldn't have happened...
