Why hasnt clorine got a whole atomic number why its atomic number is in decimals?

Isnt it because it is the equal diffeence between the two atmoic numbers 35 and 37 with a 3:1 proportion of its two stable isotopes. Hence its 35.5

its basically becos 2 isotopes of chlorine exist in 50-50 proportions, so half of all chlorine is chlorine 35, and the other half is chlorine 36.. and the average out of the two is 35.5.. which is basically what hanzing sad

well, as hanzing said, its actually a 3:1 ratio with 3 parts 35Cl to one part 37Cl:p:
