I have got it tomorrow two. I'm really nervous about the evaluation and some of the calculations. Making it even worse a group before us are doing it at 9:00 and we have to be supervised in a room before doing this until 11:00 2 hours building the tension lol.

Does anybody has the list for the qualititative test for cations and anions. I'd appreciate it, if someone scanned them up or something. I really need them.

Are you talking about the OCR one. If you are then apparantly it is thermal decoposition of a group 2 compound and then something to do with water of crystalisation. Thats all i know. Its defo not a titration though, my teacher said.

Nah.. Edexcel. I wanted the list that says the test for each cation/anion, and what you would see. Its not by the examination board, something out of a text book or something.

All the advice I can give is to be calm!
You know everything that us coming up (Edexcel)

Acid + Base Titration
Enthalpy change
Identification of two compounds
and of course...the infamous salt purity plan

Dont panic.
There is no reason to...we can take books in and everything.
Bookmark the most vaulable pages.
Iv got mine as well tommorow at 8.30 in the morning.
Read through calculations, dont rush madly
Work quickly and accuratly

Also heres some useful advice for the identification test...
If u dotn have time to do them....read wht the test is...if its somethign straight forward like "Pass gas evoled over limewater" then u know whats going to happen...CO2 has been released...limewater goes milky, and the anion is therefore a carbonate or hydrogencarbonate
If there flame test for the cations look carefully at the colours
It will probally be Sodium (orange-yellow) or Potasium (lilac)
oh! and remember the Barium chloride test for sulphates!
They like tht one.
And displacement reactions such as " React compund with chlorine then test using starch" Iodine has been displaced

lol sorry...Im rambling now....
GOOD LUCK!!

I don't think you're allowed to "transmit electronically" anything off textbooks... but .. I've attached a page on common tests anyway. Hope it helps!
And best of luck to everyone for tomorrow!

dunno if this will help but if u open one of the syllabuses here, u'll get the cation/anion tests in one of the pages of the syllabus.

hope this helps.

Well for OCR which i'm doing tomorrow. It possibly could be a thermal decomposition as this was what appeared on the plan. Also definately not a back titration as this is considered too difficult for OCR AS chemistry.

Meh.. I memorised most of the basic tests. My biggest fear is the metal ion tests, the ones with Naoh and Ammonia thingy. You can't memorise those.

I'm only worried about the percentage purity thing. I'm quite good in the rest.

Thanks, The thing I wanted was out the slybus. The teacher handed it out, but I lost it.

Thanks.

BTW, I'm not worried, I memorised most of it, I'm just worried from the metal ion tests, the one with Naoh and ammonia.
