 google street view, I took a walk from Emma to the Sidgwick Site to see how far it was, and also from Emma to the station.

Wish I'd checked how far Architecture is from Selwyn! I'd have chosen another college. I know it could be further but i'd have saved hours of precious work time had i lived closer!

google streetview is excellent though. Amazing concept.

Yeh I don't really have a choice. For ESRC your best bet is going through 1+3 which in most cases involves writing a proposal for your PhD at this stage. I've got ideas and started writing it up today, but somebody pointed out one flaw and it put me in a bad mood the whole day.

That's because the Psychology you guys got offered was from PPSIS not from NatSci, if Unbeliever was right

If you take Social Psychology, you won't have any lectures before 10am (in fact I think they were all 11 or after) and you won't have any on Saturday :yy: That's providing its the first year paper from the SPS Tripos though.
Yep, I knew a couple of CompScis who took our SPS Psychology module, including the guy with 23 A Levels.

And the lectures for Psych this year were 2pm and midday (if I recall correctly)

in other more cambridge orientated news- my college daughter has been born :woo: she emailed me  (she doesn't seem to have facebook though  which worries me ever so slightly :p:)

Maybe she's on facebook but has her privacy settings set so that she doesn't come up in searches.

Yeah...

Mondays were horrible for me. I'd peel myself from the bed for my 10AM Biological Anthropology lecture and come back and sleep, and most of the time I'd oversleep and miss 2PM psychology  . The times when I managed to wake up for psychology I almost invariably regretted going to the lectures. What a terrible subject

We have a mutual friend at my college and she isn't in her friends list either- so if thats the case her privacy settings must be something like "MI6" :p:

Your life seems enviably full of cooking interesting things

sadly I could only find frozen chicken livers so the pate will have to wait until tomorrow :frown: the relish is nice though

My little sister just wrote (for some RE homework about creationism vs big bang / evolution [which, worryingly, the RE teacher seems to conflate]):

"Some people believe that cats are too elegant and modest to have been created by an explosion". Aww.

I've really pissed her off 'cos it took me a couple of minutes to stop laughing :o:

Aw, that's so sweet.
But you do have to remember that just because dinosaurs had sharp teeth, it doesn't mean that they were meat eaters, just that they had sharp teeth.
Plus, some people also believe that peanut butter is the atheist's nightmare..

Does anyone know if the new Primark is open yet/when it will be open?

I need a cheap dressing gown which may or may not have been made by small poor slave children...

I don't think it's open yet but I'm sure that it will do very soon.

Edit: scheduled to open in November according to this http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/cn_news_cambridge/displayarticle.asp?id=446073

I'm watching shooting stars, and can't help but wonder if Vic Reeves is going to get into trouble for 'impersonating an officer' a la university challenge... I think I've reached new cynicky lows..
