They probably are actually that awesome.

Less so when I'm hungry.

I think I'm going to sign up for a language course at the LC. I just can't decide what to do: It's either French Intermediate 2, Russian (Basic) or Mandarin (Basic). I guess the latter is the most problematic because it's unlikely to produce reasonable results in such a short time but it still sounds interesting...

I want to do something with the LC (probably advanced German/beginner Spanish/beginner Russian/beginner Mandarin or something!) but really not sure that I'll have the time.... what do you/your DoS (you have to get permission from your DoS I think) think about how you'll manage the time?

I think I do have enough time - as you said, time management is the major concern. Although my time management always gets better when it has to, having little to do will usually result in me doing even less, so... I didn't know you had to get permission from your DoS, but I think she would be supportive, I did well in exams last year and am not doing any sports which would take up lots of additional time so I can't see why she would refuse.

Curses! My TSR project meant that my DoS now knows about my modding :pinch:

S/He actually bothers to stalk you on TSR? As far as I remember, you did not become a mod until after you had received your grade for your project...

She brought it up in conversation today and asked if it was one of my extra-cs :o:
But yeh - I doubt she stalks. Who has time for that!

We have time for TSR, and you have time for modding so who knows? :ninja:

That reply was so quick it's scary :ninja: .

I knew it :judge:

Well this is a fairly happy ending; at least this way she'll be too embarrassed to admit it, so we're at a stalemate :awesome:
I have looked for an appropriate smiley but not found a satisfactory one.

:sigh: Given that Bourdieu wrote about 25 books, I think college might begin to get a bit suspicious if I order too many, considering they've already brought in about five and a reader for me over the last 6months :ninja2:

Try ordering them in your faculty library, where they'll be relevant to more people?

Yeh... see the one library has money and buys things, the other doesn't. I'm highly sceptical that SPS would purchase anything particularly quickly, but you're right its worth asking.

However, on the subject point, I don't really know that it would be used more in SPS. There's a reason that particular text is in the Philosophy library :hmmmm:

I've found it in googlebook form, which is handy, but I might traipse to Casimir tomorrow anyway just because I prefer book form.

People tend to go with that ninja one, but it's rather overused...

You could use the female ninja one? And then make craggy wonder further if its a clue to your gender, thus having the satisfaction of adding some extra confusion to her day.

To be fair, "fumblewomble" as a name choice is more telling than smiley selection :awesome:

But surely no girl would wear socks with sandals?

So our lecturer today was telling us. Apparently they're so awesome that it justifies running 10 minutes over and still only getting halfway through. And the lecture notes seem to be being given out at each lecture rather than in a bundle at the beginning, so there's no chance of dropping the lecture and having lunch an hour earlier. :frown:
I looked up who the lecturer was (I think he's a reasonably good one on the whole, but I've only seen him in a 4th year maths course, which is a different environment) - it looks like in Easter you're going to be lectured by some hep-th royalty.

Fumblewomble is definitely a male-ish name, yes. But that could be purely a ruse to put you off the scent.

After all, the TSR consensus is that Craggy/Craghyrax is male too :p:

You ppl should just keep it simple. Tom=the-real-world-name-Tom. No confusion there
