Well, I've finally moved out. I am no longer a Cambridge student. End of an era or what?!?

Why does TSR have no socialist smileys?

Anyway I had a lovely day in London at Marxism 2009. Met a few TSRers :yep: The start was annoying. I had to meet people at Russel Square, one stop away from Kings Cross. I got to Kings Cross and the tube station was shut due to 'overcrowding'. I tried to find Russel Square which I realised wouldn't be far, but there weren't any obvious landmarks and I asked a construction worker who didn't help... so I ended up walking to Euston station, going on the tube, down Northern, across Central... just as I got off at Holborn to switch to Picadilly (which Russel Square is on) they announced that the line had been suspended! :hmpf:

And geographically I was now the same distance from Russel Square as when I had started, Kings Cross being North and Holborn South, with Russel Square bang in the middle
But I found it eventually. Jangra came to rescue me :p: and it was a lovely day :yep: Saw Tony Benn and David Harvey. Missed Terry Eagleton because I didn't queue early enough and it filled up :frown:

Ya for a very good weekend. My best friend came over last night, we drank wine in my bed and she introduced me to the TV series True Blood, has anyone heard of it? We watched 4 episodes, and I've watched another six today! Its so addictive and sexy - it probably helps that I have a major girl crush on Anna Paquin, and have done since I was 14
This morning i went to a church in town to hear Selwyn Choir sing - they are on choir tour in Belgium, of all places - and I got to see loads of Selwynites which stopped me feeling so homesick for the Bridge! And they are all coming round to mine on Tuesday for a barbecue before they head back to the UK  Yay for Cambridge solidarity abroad

Wow, the choir thing is a coincidence. And Anna Paquin is cool :yep:
Someone died at Kings Cross which is why it was closed. It screwed up my trains.

People told me this, but they didn't announce it on the trains. I was confused as to how people knew.
Wow, TSR really is slow at the moment! That's a good thing though, as this is my first proper day as an architectural researcher, and I have a lot to do on my new project (currently on lunchbreak...). Enjoying it muchly already, and there is another project which I will be working on too which means more monies!

Yay!

Gah! Why didn't I set an alarm. Only got three hours left to make use of the Ward

Did you get the flat you wanted?

Yes, though we don't move in for a couple of weeks. I'm at home now. It's raining, and the headline on the local paper is "Auto loo traps man." Ahhh, rural middle England...

I'd forgotten how dense social theory is! I've only read 6 pages :>.<: Still, have made loads of notes, and at least its a start!
I just realised yesterday how much stuff I have to do this holiday and I'm beginning to worry! At least mild pressure is conducive to making it all happen :p:
BLIMEY This weather is crazy!

I am also so unused to working at a desk... I need a wrist support cos I have slight RSI already!
Athena
It may be that you're out of practice, rather than RSI - you and James heard how much I moaned about my hand when I was working in the lab, and that went off after the third week, once I'd built up the right muscles!

True, but I think using a wrist support for typing and mouse work is good practice anyway, so i might invest in one of those gel ones. I may also start using my tablet again.
They announced it on my train which is the only reason I know. Oh and sorry for being rubbish and not replying to your text, i'll message you later

Was that the easiest University Challenge ever, or was it just tailored to what I'm good at?

I thought it was ridiculously hard, also with a different style of question to previous series, so probably the latter.
All the questions seemed to be about cricket!

+1 -"ridiculously"

But the ethane, propane, butane thing was a joke. And as for the question about a recent female British monarch... I don't know why you'd include a question that's a test of speed rather than knowledge.

Oh, and Vytautas = ownage.

I was very surprised at Will's lithuania knowledge.
