What goods were left? I want some *jealous* :frown:

Chelsea bun

Nap over; back to essay.
A rum truffle and chelsea bun :ninja: Clearly whoever it was knows me quite well...

Well, I figure they must stress a bit anyways, it wouldn't be Cambridge if they didn't:p:
They predominantly seem to play pool :erm: But yeh, I would be incredibly hypocritical to tar them with the same brush. Presumably there are a few misunderstood Historians out there, buried under a pile of reading in their rooms, agonising over their weekly essays and daring everybody else to just try and do the reading if they think it constitutes no work!!!

Not quite, I haven't been to any others and I intended to go try more out but HT have a free freshers breakfast next week that I am inclined to go to.
Cool. Well I've been at HT for a year and really like it. Also I find that there are so many good churches at Cam that it became much of a muchness for me in first year to try and pic one. I ended up settling for the one which alot of my friends were going to :o: But I haven't been disappointed by them.

That's brilliant  Like ukebert, I'd almost enjoy it for the novelty/procrastination use.

And because I rather enjoy making something noticeably clean. There's a lot of satisfaction in that which negates much of the unpleasantness of cleaning (hence why I quite enjoyed cleaning the (disgusting) bilges of Kestrel when we were in the Baltic.

Me too  I'm so glad I'm only sharing a kitchen with two this year. They don't use it much and when they do leave mess I don't really mind cleaning it up because its so minimal. One or two extra cups and plates when you're doing the washing up is fairly negligible.

Also tidying/ordering/prettifying is a great procrastination tool

Oh yes, in fact when I was at work I used to get my desk deliberately very messy so that when things got really bad I could take some "legitimate" time off.

My supervision at 5 was cancelled with 75 minutes notice

I had done most of the work, but I'm happy as it is ammunition to use for a rainy day

I can't wait for hall :hmpf: I'm SO hungry! And out of food to cook...

And I've got a new society hoodie with my name on it  Good timing, as one of my old favourite hoodies eventually died

Incidentally, if anybody wants to get involved with any charitable or ethical student societies in the University, come along to the Refreshers Tea Party on Thursday. 3pm, Chetwynd Room Kings, lots of free cake, tea and coffee. We have reps from all the societies there.

See I had hall for lunch and am still feeling uncomfortably full :s-smilie: My plan is to finish my materials (hah) and then go shopping. Which i've been meaning to do for days.
I'm starving but for some reason I've decided to go to second hall. I can't remember why though.

And I've just realised I have a supervision just before my Matric Dinner tomorrow, so I'm going to have to sprint across town in my kilt. Should be fun

Do you eat in the old bit of Caius or do they have a buttery in Harvey Court?

Cambridge is used to it.
Strange question: does anybody have any creative ideas about what to do with lentils? Only I've ended up with tonnes of the stuff - not literally, but almost - and I may get bored of doing my usual thing to them each time...
(Long story short: the Bangladeshi owner of a shop on Mill Road was so overjoyed to discover my loose connection to a village loosely connected to a village to which he was loosely connected that he decided to give me a ton of free lentils, not to mention some chick peas and prayer beads thrown in for good measure; only people from the subcontinent will understand why this makes any sense)
On supervisions: two on Tue, two on Wed (one of which is at 7pm - not good for my circadian rhythm)

First essay done. Complete crap - 2 sides is nowhere near enough to work with.

Student Finance has almost come through...:eek4:

Let me know what it's like

Gould + organ + Bach's Art of Fugue = weird = genius at times. Contrapunctus IX  But he sounds more distinctive and idiomatic on piano (e.g. Contrapunctus II - classic Gould).

And although I agree JS > CPE, CPE Bach is far underrated.

Lol. I usually mix them into lamb mince tagine-style things. And I also stole The Cambridge Chop House's goat cheese and lentil salad idea, which is really nice! Basically just lentils, crumbled soft goats cheese, rocket and any other bits and bobs you fancy.

I second this. And you should totes speak to the SCA people, 'cos they're awesome, and in no way related to me :shifty:

Does this mean I might meet you there? I'll be wearing an obvious Cambridge Hub hoodie with my name on it :ninja2:
Dayum, I should really be making notes on biodiversity conservation, but instead I'm engaged in a TSR session complete with Oreos and Maltloaf.

There's a drama society workshop on tonight but I don't think I'll go. I signed up with good intentions, but I've never really done much of this amateur dramatics malarkey. I think I'll go hunting for improv and comedy groups instead.

Anyone a member of the Union Society? I wasn't going to join, but they've got some decent events coming up, and lots of my friends seem to be members. The reduced membership fee of £70 is also appealing.
Do any musicians want to join Homerton orchestra? We're short of oboes, violins, violas and some sort of brass instrument apparently.

Failing that, does anyone want to lend me a viola?

Failing that, who's up for writing my essay for me
In my lecture today the lecturer told me I looked like I should be in bed.

And then in my supervision my supervisor said that I was looking 'opaque'.

And I thought I was so much better today! :frown:

I didn't think you looked noticeably under the weather

I can't be bother to work tonight (despite the fact that I really need to) so I'll be having an iplayer marathon

Oh, how long is that lasting? I was going to join for the debating, but my finance hasn't come through yet, so I can't really splurge on anything unless I want to be unable to eat for the latter half of term.
