My structures supervisor last year used the Peterhouse Library and several time walked behind my desk when I was working on his examples paper for a supervision that afternoon...

AAArgh! I just put my laundry on and forgot to put the detergent in. How stupid am I?

Craghyrax
How do you figure that? I'd simply think 'my what a nice hard working boy that young brimstone is'...

Weird deja-vu: my friend at King's was telling me about that a couple of days ago. Ergo, you're living near each other. He's a Russianist who has a cool hat and I'm going to his for sandwiches at lunch tomorrow  Please don't mention the whole 'I know one of your friends off the internet' thing to him though, I get that a lot and it's quite wearing!

I am going to need to do some washing soon... fast running out of acceptable clothes to wear. I think I'd get some odd looks if I have to delve into fancy-dress wear.

I'm so stoked, I just realised that the new album of one of my favourite bands is streaming on their myspace a week before proper release.. yay for new musics!

Strange question: does anybody have any creative ideas about what to do with lentils? Only I've ended up with tonnes of the stuff - not literally, but almost - and I may get bored of doing my usual thing to them each time...

My auntie made a really nice pasta dish, which was just farfalle pasta (the bow-shaped ones) with butter, green lentils and Parmesan cheese.

Also (@ all) ChessPieceFace was fantastic tonight, if you're ever organising an open mic night in a decent college I strongly advise you to invite him along.

Our open mic night was a bit ****, we only had 3 acts, none of them from John's. The first guy was pretty good but a bit arrogant, then the next group were really cheesey, and we didn't really stay for the last girl (went and tried Red Boys at the Maypole )

Plus, we get Formal Hall every night

Hmm, you don't really, unless your only definition of formal is wearing a gown to it.

Thanks.

We have real Formals every night. :proud:
And I'm going tonight and tomorrow. :woo:

Good food, time to drink your wine, staff actually opening your wine for you rather than throwing a corkscrew at you, polite waiting staff, etc etc. Wait till you go on some formal swaps, then you'll see.

John's, a bit ****? Well I never...

We had a nice mix from Caius, Clare, and one each from Queen's and Selwyn. "Pretty good but a bit arrogant" wasn't Zygmunt Day was it? He finished off ours, his guitar had a damn nice sound but his songs were a bit pants and his CD was dreadful (I know, some people actually paid for it)

The first two acts were from Selwyn, I know them :p: The arrogance of the first guy is a stage-persona, he's not like that normally!

Our waiting staff are polite (-ish), just foreign. But we do get Hawking every now and again. Also Roofcar, so the questionable food quality is totally balanced out.

Sort of this, but more the sense of an actual occasion where you go to enjoy yourself rather than to just eat dinner.
