I personally would go tonight, but I'm generally over-cautious when it comes to getting to things on time.

I second Scipio's suggestion. I imagine that if I ever got a stressful job in the industry, I would have to turn up at airports 30 mins before the plane departs and stuff like that, so taking extra time to get somewhere is one of the luxuries that I'll try to keep as long as possible.

CamChatters, YOU decide. Should I pack my kit up and go to Luton tonight? Or brave rush hour tomorrow? It's a 60-80 minute drive and I need to be there for ~9:30am. I haven't started packing yet, but as I'm only there for three days this week, I shouldn't need to do much.

I/you will decide by 2200 tonight.

Go tonight. Fumblewomble has spoken.

Right, it seems like that decision is unanimous. I much prefer to be at a placement the night before, but I was feeling rather lazy today...

That sounds ******* horrible!! What were their complaints exactly? I suggest you bring this up with college via your tutor and/or accommodation office. It doesn't sound like it was fair or justified...!

I am very tempted to buy (another) whiteboard to do working on, to try to cut down on my ridiculous paper use (at the moment I'm using rough paper to do messy solutions and then writing them up neatly, so they're easier to mark).

Hmm try some of those magic whiteboards? (The Dragons' Den ones)

Horrible things - that we've been leaving sanitary waste in the kitchen bin(!!!!!!) and that we left vegetable debris(?) on the sides... I really don't get it. All the cleaners seem to do is leave us nasty notes. My flatmate is giving the welfare girl a piece of her mind atm, and has been for the last 20mins. And I don't have a college tutor :frown:

Hah. Usually I have to pester housekeeping about bedders not doing their job, not the other way round!
This year's bedder is good though, thank goodness. Darwin sounds weird and uncollegey.

Gah, just checked the traffic news. Roadworks with 8 mile tailbacks.

I'm off in 5 minutes. *gulp*

Isaac Newton Institute might be the best bet, but I figure it's an urban legend(certainly I've heard it about MIT).
It is the Isaac Newton Institute. They have green blackboards (like all the other blackboards there) in at least one male toilet. Edit: Ladies are apparently also catered for.

Having a whiteboard to do supervision work on is a good idea, by the way. It worked for me.

Sorry if all that was a bit useless, I'm not very good at explaining stuff over the internet.
Ooops I forgot to hand in one of my worksheets for QB / MB :s-smilie:

'friend' and 'oxford'. My dear Mensch

An act of charity methinks; Mensch obviously cares for those less fortunate than himself.
I hate SCHI and its stupid essays.

I'm bored. It's not that I have nothing to do - there's plenty of example sheets and lecture revision to do - but there's very few things in my week that I'm actually looking forward to. This has to change, although I'm not quite sure how.
Reply 3954
Ugh. So tonight I had to choose between reading to prepare for a lecture, or going to an interesting talk. I chose the latter, but now I've got to try and assimilate 50pages of reading in 30mins. Error :erm:

Bit of the ole' Icelandic? :p:

I don't understand that :frown: . I'm trying to decipher it, but neither urbandictionary nor google nor wikipedia seem to be of assistance. My first instinct is that you suggest I drink some kind of alcoholic beverage called 'Ye olde Icelandic' or something like that?

Enlighten me :p: !

Several Camchatters have been talking about starting Icelandic lessons (the language) So I jokingly suggested you take it up.

Failing that, find an SPSer in your college and ask them to forward you all the spam they get for SPS related events in Cambridge. Eg I went to this: http://www.facebook.com/inbox/?folder=[fb]messages&page=1&tid=239564490651#/event.php?eid=187731373274&index=1 tonight, and I'll go to this on Friday:

I see  . And I thought it was either some kind of deep and profound proverb or some kind of internet innuendo  . I've already abandoned the languages idea though since the Russian course I had an eye on is at an inconvenient time and I'm not sure I want more revision in my schedules. Politics stuff seems interesting...
