Can anyone think of something non-toxic yet disgusting I can mix into the sundried tomato paste that someone is stealing from my fridge? (I'm not bothered about ruining it for myself since I don't like it.)

Urine? or laxitives

Well some Geography chat. That makes a pleasant change. We don't seem to often get Geography chat :-)

However, as I say, I think I was perhaps just a bit fractious.

I went for the fractious approach in first year. I was often up late trying to do my essays, often having done an all nighter two nights before hand for the last, and sociable loud housemates were not helpful.

It could be lupus
Urine? or laxitives

The former is a bit disgusting, the latter won't be obviously attributable to deliberate meddling, but could be from many things, so won't give the obvious signal that I know what they're up to.

I had one of the worst lecture overruns ever - over 1 hour late! But it was well worth it to hear a new (well, old) interpretation of quantum mechanics which gives the wavefunction physical meaning! :eek3:

And I think I saw Excalibur at said lecture, but I'm not sure.

If it was a quantum mechanics lecture, then I definitely was not there. :p:

How about something edible (and inconspicuous) but would definitely not go with the paste? e.g. a dollop of sugar/salt/garlic powder etc.

I know, I was only joking :p: . Personally I wouldn't know what I would mix with it. Maybe put a lot of pepper or salt in it? That would make it clear

So complicated! I just write notes. Or speak to people.

As I said, I would if it was something I cared about, but it's more the principle, so I may as well try and get some fun out of it.

On a non-related note, can I wash pale greens/blues with beige?

Lol there is that

I usually do, but avoid hot washes.

How? Why?

The British Museum have decided not to allow me to sample the material that I need, based on what seem to be both unreasonable demands and ridiculous academic politics. Gah.

I seem to remember, after reading the Culture Industry (or parts thereof), that I felt very, very guilty whenever standing near a television or computer.
Just had to help remove a very drunk guy from the the girl opposite's room. He was at a swap at Trinity and managed to leave his gown in someone's room there.

Seems no-one here can hold their drink like me

I've just arrived at the conclusion that Adorno was a very, very bitter man who took his art way too seriously :lolwut:
The marxist bits were ok, if a bit repetitive, but the rest kind of flies off of the handle a bit.

The Madness of George III was fun though

Was it?

I'm Technical Director for it and can shamefully admit that I haven't actually seen the show yet. This is because I was roped into doing it two weeks ago because they were in urgent need of someone. Sadly I don't know much about it except the set plan, the restraining chair (which I made, by the way ) and what I've picked up through being around during bits of rehearsal / backstage now and then.

I will see it before the end of the run. I must. I get a free ticket anyway.

I would like to extent a particularily warm 'thank you' to the couple above me that are keeping me awake right now - good for Russian vocab, bad for my mood... :/
In my sicky state over the weekend I read the Spanish word for 'Wednesday' as 'Monday' and have consequently missed the deadline for yet another piece of work. Another grovelling email needed. I'm hoping that my idiocy might make her laugh and my illness might make her more inclined to not hate me, but seeing as I didn't do the last three assignments that she set me last year, thinking I'd never have her again, I don't think she's predisposed towards being all that kind to me :p:

EDIT: Also, how the **** did I read 'miercoles' as Monday? I've only been studying this stupid language for 8 whole years... Let the self-loathing commence.

That sucks; on a completely different note, have you watched the putin rap video yet? If not, it'll definitely cheer you up!

Haha yeah, it's fantastic! Definitely the most hilarious lecture introduction I've ever had...

When we have a TSR Formal you'll see that that isn't true.

Oh and, "I'm just so tired of this lone-li-ne-ss". Rep for the very, very obvious reference.

At Last!!! I've finished this wretched chapter  Adorno is such a moron! The only pleasant thing about the last 90mins has been Dvorak's New World Symphony

A good sound system really can't be valued highly enough!

Oh well done. I wondered about that.

:smartass:

Drumknott pulled an ukebert:

"I would not like it thought that I do not buy my own paperclips, sir. I enjoy owning my own paperclips, it means that they are mine. I thought it helpful I should tell you that in a measured and non-confrontational way."
Vetinari looked at the ceiling for a few moments and then said:
"Thankyou for your frankness. I shall consider the record straightened and the matter closed."
"Thank you, sir."
