Today I discovered the Asda. Guinness Export for a pound and drinkable red wine for just over three pounds . I feel at home again :P.
I also got a potplant Homebase, it has stripy leaves.
Unfortunately, doing that, followed by going and drinking cocoa and reading children's books with Shiela Soc hasn't left a huge amount of time for work ><. I'm not *too* drastically behind at the moment though...

Every time I put my Boyzone Live DVD on I fear I hear people laughing outside :s-smilie:

 It's probably just a coincidence. :ninja:

It's not my fault it's the only DVD I have down here.

Obviously I don't enjoy watching it at all :ninja:

and I definitely don't dance around my room to their Michael Jackson set
Meh, wrote about a 1000 words of my essay but it's really poor stuff, and I don't know when I'll get time to write the rest. D:

I've had a really unhealthy couple of days too...definitely getting back to healthier eating from tomorrow (now that I've ate everything unhealthy I had :P). It doesn't help that the canteen likes to smother everything in a cheese sauce though. :/
My tutor=only person in Cambridge who takes Sunday off.

Barring me...
I finished the Chemistry workbook about midday today. Am proud

I just feel isolated here-I was ill before I came which left me with very little confidence in going out. I feel trapped as, to me at the moment, Homerton just seems so far away from everything. If I was in the city I could start getting out and building up my confidence knowing my college is just around the corner. Here I can't do that so I've been outside the college twice in the 3 weeks I've been here (to Tesco and the city once each).

The corridor way of living is also not great for someone like me :frown: I wish I'd thought about it more before applying.

I'm sorry to hear about you situation Natalie. I live on a very hotel-like corridor in a very hotel-like room (good for the conference guests I suppose; a Cambridge college still has to find money right?) and cook by myself most days of the week for dinner (I have actually sent off an email to the Head Chef detailing my allergy situation, after the JCR prompted us to do so and after the Nurse basically said I should). It's not much of a consolation, but at least you know you're not alone.

BTW do you usually go to the proper Tesco or the Tesco Express?

I fear my productivity will fall immensely this week, as I'm taking my xbox 360 on placement with me :flute:

I got all my Russian listening exercises correct. I iz proud :proud:

I've decided I am going to be as productive as possible from now on...it's kind of hit me how much work I have/that I need to sort out my career/not waste my life.

Today I discovered the Asda.

I miss Asda being so close...it used to be 5 minutes. Now it's a half hour at a leisurely walk. :sigh:

The Tesco Express but I really want to go to the big one as I kind of miss supermarkets...in a weird but very real way :yep:

I had a guest in the room next to me the other night. He was fond of heavy metal :yep: in the middle of the night :yep:

My room is freezing. I turned the thermostat down this morning as it was boiling and forgot to change it again :s-smilie: I'm still not sure how it works as it always clicks on at 25 whatever temperature I put it on but it definitely affects the temperature in my room when I move it...

I looooove hayley westenra!
I hope you're not feeling too blue anymore :hugs: how did the choir audition go?
Silly question: would it be at all easy/cheap to get to the seaside from here? I miss wide open water.

The auditions tomorrow-hopefully I won't embarrass myself too much...

I love Hayley Westenra too-I've wanted to see her for ages and she's in Peterborough next month so I had to get tickets :yep:

I did think about calling the porters, then I fell to sleep :frown:

I missed a proper supermarket too :sadnod: But then I found / planned an expedition to Tesco - it is pretty big (although I couldn't find any metal whisks). And it has a fairly nice path through some unkempt grass. Not quite the same as my usual route to my local supermarket, but it'll do.

I miss the stationery aisle, I hope it has one. I've been to Sainsburys but it was like a cattle market in there.

I might go to Tesco sometime soon. I just hope the bus turns up this time (I wouldn't know how to find it to walk there as I've heard there's 2...)

Fair enough. I'm very pleased that not only did I have no headache at all this morning, but all my sport went better than normal.

It was the extreme fatigue and the headache that made me think it was too much. Having went to bed again I am now fully recovered

They have metal whisks in asda, if you still need one...
and potato mashers. Yay for less lumpy mash :P.

I bought a grater to make potato fritters/something which vaguely resembled potato fritters but it grated too thinly :frown:

I don't know that this has any relevance to the conversation, the talk of utensils just reminded me...
How do potato fritters work? they sound tasty.
