Ah, I walk very quickly, but I'll take your advice in hand. I get a lift out there, but then I must find my way back.

Depending on exactly where you are, and if you're not adverse to paying the cost, then the Uni/Citi 4 stops on JJ Thomson Avenue (runs down between WGB and the Vet buildings) and on Madingley Road somewhere near Churchill. It's then about a 10 minute ride to Silver Street, outside Queens', which would cut it down a fair bit.

Thanks for the advice. I think, however, that the appeal of a decent walk is more tempting.

Are you going to the swap tomorrow btw? I signed up for it thinking all the reps/people from the exec would be there, but no-one I've asked so far is actually going...

No, I've had to pull out - I'm missing kickboxing on Wednesday due to being in London, so can't miss it tomorrow too. :frown:
Grr, the university now thinks that I am an international student, and wants to photocopy my passport so that I won't have to pay international fees.

My mood is not helped by the fact that my sleep was impaired yesterday due to the rather noisy couple next door. :sigh:

And I haven't really thought of any ideas for halloween; I generally don't particularly like fancy dress anyway...

I was kept awake half the night by a phone ringing, but couldn't work out where the noise was coming from. I can't help but feel I'm in the prologue of a very shoddy film...
Bah, internet went down in my accommodation again, meaning that I couldn't send the piece of work that I'd spent all day doing, meaning that when I turned up to my lesson my teacher was less than impressed and clearly didn't believe me. Computing Office have thus far failed to fix it. I'm trying to work out if I should tell my tutor, my DoS or both... Not having the internet really disrupts my work - yesterday, for example, not only did I have this piece of work to email to a teacher, but I also had Spanish through Audio Visual media work to do, which involved watching several videos... on the internet. I was planning on starting this quite late, couldn't, have just missed another deadline for a teacher whose class I missed a couple of weeks ago and whose translation work I still haven't sent, and everything just suddenly fell on top of me and I had a huge panic attack which kept me awake too long and then conked me out completely, with the result that I slept through my alarm and missed a lecture this morning that would have been relevant to the essay I'm writing this week.

And I still have three essays due for Wednesday. Bah. Since when did Week 5 blues hit in Week 3?

Thankfully I don't get them as much anymore. Although saying that, I've already had two this term. No more please. I need a way to calm down.

In other news, I'm up FAAR too early for an arts student :/ I think I'm still in shock...

I know how you feel - I successfully got up at 6:45 this morning to finish work due in before my 10AM lectures. Ugh.

In Cambridge everyone seems tired even by doing nothing. It's as though it's mentally exhausting just being here...

It is mentally exhausting to study here. :sadnod: And no one does 'nothing' - at the very least they have to be attempting their supervision work.
Tutor: Changing subject won't be a problem, you not going out will be.

I just realised my green top and purple jacket I went out in makes it look like I've dressed up as Barney the dinosaur :s-smilie:

This happens to me every term ... you'll get used to it.

at least thats some of the load off your mind :console:- didn't you say you're going to choir or orchestra or something this week? I guess its something you're going to have to build up gradually. maybe try coming to a TSR meet, that way they'll be people who have rooms in town if you feel unwell? :yep:
I'm having some serious bike rage issues today - why do so many people feel the need to cross the road without looking?

Because if they are me, they are wrapped in thought, being self-aware enough to notice if a car is making a loud noise behind them but not if a bike is speedily advancing... I can't count how many times I've nearly been run down in Cambridge.

I have had a terrible day so far. Woke up absolutely shattered, just survived my lectures, had a two hour lab, which admittedly was OK because it was based on A level electronics. Then lunch and I headed to CUSU to do some photocopying for the ceilidh band. After there were some problems with the paper jamming in the scanning feed it went fine, until there was a major paper jam that involved me opening it up, pulling enough of it out such that I could open up another bit and remove the rest. After that I had to rescan, which was a pain and I'm a little worried that it didn't do it particularly well. Then it ran out of paper and printed 20 sheets on some random CUSU letterhead, so I had to stop again and sort that out. I loaded up all the paper from all the various trays in both photocopiers but still ran out with 10 folders to go. There was no more to be found, so I had to stop. I then realised that although I had my Ceilidh Band card with me I had no idea what the PIN was, so I paid by cheque from my own account. It wasn't until I was out the door that I realised that she could keep the cheque until tomorrow when I should have a PIN from the other card. Unfortunately it was already in the system and she didn't know how to get it out. I got back with half an hour to spare before walking to West Cambridge for my supervision. I need to leave in about 15 minutes and I'm already shattered and haven't quite finished the work because the photocopying kept on going wrong.

And tonight I'll have to sort through the 132*20 sheets of paper to check that we have all of them in the correct order.

I wouldn't worry about that, I'm putting some effort in for tomorrow night's guest dinner, but on Saturday, the furry cat ears are being supplemented by black jeans, a black t-shirt and black elbow-length gloves.

Happy belated birthday btw :hugs:

thanks

I am very pleased - I just managed to sort out my xmas dinner outfit by getting a Coast satin skirt for 29 quid down from about 90  Given that I own about three formal outfits, this is Good Thing.

I find it funny that I have more formal dinners this term at Wadham than I did at Cam given I was at one of the old, traditional colleges. 3 more fancy dinners left this term
I somehow managed to scalpel myself today in dissection. On the plus side, Dara O' Briain tonight

Not ideal. If it helps, today I spent a significant amount of time cursing myself for not being able to find an MA thesis that I'm reading through, only to discover it at the bottom of a book pile on my desk. Gah.

Tomorrow, however, I actually get to start some research for this dissertation. I'll be heading to the museum stores camera and measuring tape in hand.

Indeed; I'm heading off in a minute for Adam Kay first, and to make sure I have a seat for Dara.
