My girlfriend has a dino which gets cooked and his magicness probably can't be easily replaced.

This sounds even more brilliant when taken out of context.
Woo, Piano Trio

I had a supervision today that didn't go disastrously  I now have to do loads and loads of work over the next few days four weeks few terms.

Whoop, late night essay sessions! I could have actually done this earlier, or could do it tomorrow, but now seems good...
OMG this is the third time this term that I've found a wasp in my room :afraid: My window and door are always shut so I can't understand how they keep coming in - I'm really scared of them, and not knowing how or when they will come in is making it horrible. I'm too scared to go to sleep now, having found one just a few minutes ago and imagining that they may start buzzing around me while asleep... I'm starting to wonder whether there's holes in the ceiling/wall or a wasp's nest in the roof (I live on the top floor) and whether college might do something about it.

It's not "late night" yet. :nah:

And I'm done already; good times! :yep:
Still need to get up early this morning to do other work for a class, but that won't be marked so it's fine.

Heyyy.. how are you finding third year? I want to sleep for a week already.

I've basically been sleeping all this past week so now I'll have to forego sleep for like a month to catch up. Everyone told me third year would be less work than last year - what a lie! What papers are you doing?
Worst. Outing. Ever. :p:

Yeah! What is with that myth?! 'Oh third year is really easy.. to make up for the other two years of weeding people out..' So not true..
I'm taking the core ones plus conflicts, juris and medical/media half papers..(I think I might be crazy) How about you?

Meh, if you don't have bad outings you wouldn't enjoy the good ones so much.

P.S We have a boatie chat thread here, created so that the non-boaties don't get annoyed. This thread used to be over-run!

I see :p:

I'm actually awake for an 11am lecture  Have got loads of washing to do today too.

I hate those microwave bean bag things. They stink. Hot water bottles are so much easier, and they stay hotter for longer. Specific heat capacity ftw :p:

Excalibur: I know Varsity remind us all that Downing accommodation is dodgy, but still have a go at getting them to send a pest control person in.

spooks is back on on wednesday :awesome: i can't wait!
really should get on with planning my essay before i go out gah i hate work! cambridge would be so much better if all i had to do was attend my lectures and practicals then get a degree at the end :yep:

Cambridge minus supervision essays would be ideal. I like the supervisions, and I like the reading and the lectures. One can have just as good a supervision having only done the reading.
Oh yes, we're bringing the boat into town for the fireworks and wondered if anyone wanted to come over? We'll be in town from Wednesday night til Saturday afternoon, I expect.
How do you even begin to write a 'letter of introduction' to a person who is widely held to be one of the world's most eminent and longest active archaeologists? I'm hoping to meet said person on the 11th November after a talk in London, in order to get advice regarding my dissertation research (much of the material being hers'). The joint uncertainty of hand writing and formalizing a letter, beyond the usual 'dear supervisor so and so', is disconcerting. This is harder than writing an exam script.

Maybe just assuming they are human and keeping it relatively informal would make life easier?

Normally this would be appropriate, yet I've talked to people who know her and she is, apparently, very traditional in terms of social etiquette such that relative informality would be a good way to get myself ignored. She is 100, after all ... the idea is "think P.G. Wodehouse"
