The two boys on my staircase are still using my cutlery and not washing it and just leaving it by the sink, even though I put a note up on the fridge with their names asking them not to do it :hmpf:

I'm wondering whether to take the whole cutlery selection and store it in my room instead. (room is next door to kitchen)

Or just talk to them and ask them not to do it? (assuming you haven't already tried that of course)

I keep everything cooking-related in my room apart from food that needs to be fridged.

Although I do appear to be living on a corridor with some kind of kleptomaniac...

I'm considering it.

Do you mean face to face? I already wrote a direct note about it, which is still on the fridge with their first names in capitals.

Perhaps the note annoyed them and made them do it out of irritation.

Right, one of my mates is organising a Downing Open Mic night on Monday 23rd November. If there's anyone who'd like to perform (after seeing some of the TSR-ian talent at the Clare one, I know we'd be honoured to have you here), please quote me or PM me!

For anyone else, please put the date in your diaries! I'd love to see some TSR people along, and you're welcome for post-entertainment drinks at my place.

Right, I MUST start this reading on geofeminism. I don't even know what it bloody is.

Hmm, sounds interesting... remind me, & I may go;

@ geofeminism, sounds interesting, although I, like you, don't have a clue what it is :o:

Unlike industrialisation in Russia that is, which I've just finished an epic slog of an essay on :yep: Yay, now for vocab.

Me too. I have a cupboard full of food and my small collection of pans and cutlery scattered in places. It's so much cleaner in my room :yep: and whoever keeps laying their milk in the fridge leading it to leak on the floor and in the fridge is about to get a note from me (if only I could find a post it note).

I'm not feeling good tonight-seriously considering leaving or something. Will go and see tutor tomorrow :frown:

Damn. I want a pretty laptop, but I suspect that these aren't great value for money :frown: Why is buying new stuff always so complicated :shifty:

Sony VAIO (although prob not that colour - they have a range)
Dell Inspiron

It pains me to say this but the best laptops you can buy are Macbooks.

Of course, if you're looking for an economical option...

Beware of the Vaio - I've had mine under two years and the CD/DVD drive stopped working just out of the one year warranty period. The keyboard is also a huge PITA, and it's been without a spacebar for a while now.

Though that said I did buy the Vaio after my Dell died... :s-smilie:

Yes, face to face. In general it's probably a good idea to get to know the people sharing your kitchen anyway, and if possible get on good terms with them. :yep:

:hugs: Hope it gets better. I was feeling quite bad at around this time last year - it is possible that things will significantly improve if you stick at it.

If it was me I'd prefer a Core 2 Duo processor.

See I'd agree, but face to face seems more aggressive to me. Mainly because I think my general manner is very direct anyway, and despite years of trying I can't really overhaul my personality. Tact and Craggy don't go  Also I already know them way too well because there are just three of us.

I'm so very tempted to tag them in my facebook status :sly:
Craggy is:
fed up of x and x using up all her kitchen ware and leaving it covered in bits of food by the sink, even after she politely asked them to stop doing it...

Going into the public feed of the whole college

The Dell has that. I think the Sony doesn't, but I've generally been looking for that as its what my dead laptop had.

Load of people disagree with you, and I don't want to have to adjust to a new operating system

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news :frown:

When I looked at getting my Vaio fixed I struggled to find an independent that would do it as the parts are difficult to come by. Having PC World send it back to Sony is so expensive I might as well just replace the laptop

No I really appreciate it! Everybody was saying that it was bad value for money (in terms of the specs you get in comparison to specs you get with other models for same price) - and I really needed some offputting reasons to dissuade me from wasting money purely for the aesthetics.

What happened to the Dell though? People praise them to the skies on TSR, but I know people who have had issues.

Edit: Dell does a Craggy Blue laptop :awesome:

Out of the 3 or 4 Dell laptops we've had in our house there hasn't been any problems. Also, if you do have a problem with your laptop in the future I could always take a look at it. And regarding parts it's often possible to get them quite cheaply off eBay.

Anyway, I'm off to get yet another incredibly early night - very good times.

Thanks alex. Yes the generic-ness of them, the fact that most companies use Dells and so forth does sound promising on the side of parts.
The porters know me by name due to the DVD parcels I've received since starting here :frown: This is not good...

Thats not a bad reason for them knowing you. Better than someone I know who is known for passing out in a random corridor whilst being extremely drunk in the second week of term

Porters should know you by name anyway. I get a bit more disturbed when my lecturers do...
It could be lupus

yes. "random" person.

This one woman knew me in my first week-I ordered a kettle and she saw me on my way out and told me there was a parcel for me. I'd never even seen her before...

I've bought a few DVDs and CDs but my excuse is I'm not spending a fortune on alcohol like a lot of people I know :s-smilie: a terrible, terrible excuse.
