Your chance to shine. To be honest, I would prefer if Fitz came a bit higher than 21st, but being one of those 18.3% makes you feel more special than being one of 33.4% (now what do you say to that, Trinitarians :p: ? ).

Do you mean longest hours awake or asleep? :lolwut:
When I crash after an all-nighter I usually don't sleep much longer than fifteen hours. In terms of staying awake, I've definitely remained awake for close to forty hours on a number of occasions due to work.

i meant 1st one - and wooooooah 40, quite intense *gulp*

Sleep well  Good luck with the alarm tomorrow :p:

woke up but was late, ah well, i'll definitely make up for it tomorrow morning huh :p:

From now on this is my official stance on the topic. Until I fail to get a first. Or indeed make my offer. :eek3:

Is this climbing related? Because if so I didn't realize Kelsey Kerridge had those facilities ... I've got the joy of the 'Dragon's Back' to look forward to next week, being the kind of mountain bike course that finishes off the best of us. I'm expecting to break something.

It has quite a good bouldering wall, yes  Sadly I don't much like bouldering. I miss real climbing :frown: You a climber?

I may drop by at some point; not that i've climbed for years ... I did climb over my house last year, but that was out of absolute necessity.

If I'm ever there it would be on a Tuesday night after 8

A VERY good way of thinking about it :p:

The Cambridge card doesn't say you're a student - you could be a member of staff in the university etc.

Does anybody know what the Camcard is? The University bookstore accepts it, in addition to our university cards and ARU cards...

It's for alumni of the university. According to here, it means you can still get into colleges for free, gets you local discounts etc.

Yeah, they're cards given to graduates who are no longer at the university.
Ah... so it's the exact opposite of a student card, hah.

My DoS was potentially going to leave Cambridge after this year, but it turns out she's staying. This is such a big relief for me. College told me that they were giving me a Historian Fellow as my final year DoS  I nearly had a heart attack!
Apart from it being completely inappropriate (I'm not doing Politics so have no overlap whatsoever with a historian) what I didn't need in final year was someone who doesn't know me at all and is uberly unsympathetic to - for instance - my inability to spit out supervision essays as fast as they're demanded, or tendency to sleep through supervisions/DoS meetings if my body is sufficiently exhausted. Plus she's awesome

So yay - one less potential stress factor to worry about

Question for you all.

Is the Cambridge Card an official student ID? i.e. would it get you discounts on stuff abroad? If not, how do I get one that does?

The unicard is a bit dubious as student ID, it really depends on whether they choose to accept it or not (we managed to get concession fares/fees on some things in France though).

Much better would be an ISIC or an NUS extra card. The NUS extra card as of 2008/09 doesn't have an ISIC function anymore, but still seems to be fairly well accepted overseas (just last week I managed to get a concession ticket in Australia as the person accepted it as valid student ID; have also used the NUS extra card without too much problem in France). I haven't tried using the do-it-yourself CUSU NUS card overseas before so can't comment on it...

Did you fill out the online form/email them to say you were staying on? If not, that's why your account has disappeared.

There's an online form?

In any case my college definitely knows I'm staying on, as does the clinical school... Hmmm. (This has also caught quite a few other medics by surprise it seems!)

yes you'll get the same crsid and your old emails will still be there.

That's good to know. Would have been rather annoying if I'd ended up with a crsid with a different number!

Christs 13th?!!
******* hell.

In other news, I've further screwed anonymity by getting a flag.
i've lost my (now obsolete) Uni card, but a CamCard would be really useful. They clearly don't give them out automatically though, or even really tell you about how to get one!
