I guess it must vary by college....I'm sure mine just came in the post or something without me being aware it was supposed to / making any effort. I might have ticked a box on a form at some point, not sure.

It's a really weedy card too :frown: Kind of self-assembled as you have to stick two bits of laminated plastic together than come attached to a letter.

Instructions on how to get a Camcard from the weblink earlier in this thread (http://www.alumni.cam.ac.uk/benefits/camcard/):

"If you didn't receive or recently lost your CAMCard and would like us to send you a new or replacement card, please complete the update form. Alternatively you can call into the Alumni Relations Office during normal office hours (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm) and we will happily issue you with a card."

Might pop into the Alumni Relations Office (wherever that is!) when I'm back in September and see if they're willing to give me one... (Although by then I'll probably have a unicard again)

Wooooo, first run through modelling the uni's carbon impact is FINALLY complete with all the data entered and allocated and I actually have semi-reasonable looking results

Success! Now all I have to do is check it, tweak it, justify it, and somehow spin it into a dissertation. Oh well, it's a start at least...

Sorry to bump into this thread, but do you know whether the admissions offices are working during the month of July?

It's just that I've sent an email to one of the admissions officers at Sidney Sussex asking a question regarding the visa, and they haven't yet responded. I emailed two days ago. They might be very busy lately, but just to make sure.

Anyways, would also like to ask the same question here. The visa letter that the College sends to me could it be sent earlier since I hold an unconditional offer so that I can get the visa earlier so that I don't have to crush everything into mid-agust to early september?
Yes the admin offices are open, but at the same time a lot of staff go on holiday now as its a comparatively quiet time for them. Give them a bit longer

Kirsten Dickers the admissions director should still be in cambridge that I know for sure, they will generally sort out all the paperwork/get things printed after A-level results day. However the staff in the offices are likely to be on holiday right now so there may be noone/only 1 person in the office right now.

PS Yay another Sidneyite for next year!

As a mathmo, my knowledge of chemistry is obviously limited, but I'm absolutely convinced I know what that is, and it's not fatty acids :p: .

I thought those were hydroxyls attached to fatty acid chains :frown:
*realises something vital like a double bond is missing* :ninja:

Not that different :flute: (and I even remember that those are isomers ^ :hmmm:)

It's just 3 ethanol molecules

Fatty acids have

C=0 groups

Diastereomers :yep: . The memories of yr12 chemistry are coming back. (The other kind of stereomers were called enantiomers, I believe :hmmm: ) . Anyways, I'm off to bed. Work starts tomorrow!

Ah that may have been the problem, I sent the email to Rachel Hilditch, so she is probably not there...

Thanks a lot =)

Looking forward to see you all
