Just got confirmed I'm an interview helper! :woo:

Since I vaguely remember you having done the same before, how do I deal with someone who's all happy going in to their interview and really distraught and crying their eyes out when they come out? :frown:
Tyrotoxism
i saw you in the trinity bar tonight through a window!

and tomorrow may not work because andy and fleur claim they have too much work, ben has some jazz recital and ploop has some badminton match. :frown:

Really? What were you doing in Trinity?

Thats fair enough. That means I will hopefully get the work done for next week tomorrow, leaving the rest of the week for partying. You out most nights next week?
Catsmeat
Nah, you're just not listening to it loud enough :ninja:

As for this early, abortive christmasfetish phenomenon, my only other reaction, apart from horror, is that it does look pretty good at dusk and during the night. Probably hell for moths, though.

Cambridge scrubs up well, it seems.

I lasted 2 minutes. I think that's impressive

For the next phase of my kitchen dispute, I've made a poster.

<snip>

I've got too much ******* time on my hands :frown:. And a slightly unfortunate sense of humour.

Please don't tell me that he actually left the jam in those places?

Actually I have kitchen woes as well, in that my teatowel, once pristine and white has been used to mop up god knows what (mostly coffee, but also grime and grease and so on) and so is probably never going to be white again. Despite the name, teatowels are not to be used for mopping up spills, they are used for drying dishes. And there is now only one usable teatowel, which is fairly grim itself.

There seems to have been mass panic for college engagements all week. And there have even been two examples of proper drama...

Aye, there always is. I missed it last year, didn't get engaged.

A man of conscience :teeth:

Peterhouse has got an Advent Carol Service on Sunday evening with mulled wine and mince pies :coma: And I should be done with my essay by then too :king1:

Might go to that  In fact will go to it.

I just saw 'Going Short' at the ADC (late show) and it was really good! (About investment banking)

I am out... sunday, monday, tuesday, wednesday and maybe thursday, though thinking of doing a Christmas party instead of revs.

You have friends?! :lolwut: :p:

Really?! :eek4:
I just read that 1A Natsci exams are graded on a curve (25% to get 1sts)...is this the same for all Cambridge subjects/parts?

Just say "don't worry, must people think its awful. of course some of them people will get offers. just wait till january... then tell some story about someone who did something stupid who got in anyway"

:yep: You should know the curve is a normal distribution :p: top 20% get firsts in medicine

I'd recommend it.

It took the piss out of investment bankers and socialists, but it was generally light hearted and fun.

Inspired

I have just discovered via Camtools that I have a seminar on Monday
Despite this I am more inclined to spend the evening catching up on TV than reading.

My friend, he put jam in a margarine container, while the margarine was also in the tub. There are no limits.

That's unfortunate uke. Make a poster .
Ideas on how to stop/catch someone stealing my milk? I thought I was safe with my whole cream milk, but it seems not

Great playing on the Open Mic night as well! :top: I think the instrumental acts on that night were some of the best I've heard, including yours!

On the music front, my 'Baroque pig-out' fortnight is drawing to its close. It's been absolutely brilliant though  And tonight's countertenor! :adore:

Woah, that's awesome haha! Good to know.
And I don't think I can work it out. :/ I might not know her. Oh wait! From Southampton (going on her facebook page)? If it is, I'm not surprised at all. You two were destined for marriage! :P

And thanks a bunch. It was a really poor performance on my part because I was so freeeekin nervous and my hands were shaking, but I really enjoyed it. I'll have to give you guys a proper rendition sometime.

Not a big fan of grading curves, kind of reduce the incentive to work.

AAAHHHHH! I've just been there! I'm surprised I didn't see you, there weren't many there. I was sitting middle-leftish in the auditorium with a blue jacket with a grey hood. Next to a girl with long blonde hair?

Anyhoo, I thought it was really good too. The girl was brilliant, but I wasn't convinced by the main guy. It was a bit fake, and quite static. Delivery was a bit robotic and the intonation on his lines was the same everytime. There was one bit where he loosened up and did well though.

I roped college grandad in, so we might be able to make a family meet out of it :p:

Lol. At Peterhouse they're still begging for extra people right through the interviews. None of this 'confirmed' stuff...

We only take students to the interview, not from... Surely just say whatever you think is best. Or this:

Nah it's not the Christmassy theme that interested me - the Cambridge Night Climbers (presumably) have been up to their tricks and put santa hats in high places. It's great fun santa hat spotting.

oOo... totally missed that.

Yeah, I'm around next weekend, and free as far as I know  That would be good, I could make them with you and take lots into work for the lab meeting...

Yay! Well I'll diary it and contact you closer to the time

Really? I think it makes a greater incentive, as it means that you have to be at the top to gain a first. I know for medicine anyway that that is going to be far from easy. With the way my anatomy is going at the minute I think I would definitely be happy with a 2.1 neither mind a first
