Borders is going into administration. This is a bad thing. There's not even going to be a firesale, by the look of things :frown:.

This is bad. Especially since I only really have time to go into town once the real bookshops have shut.

Thanks; I'll have a look tomorrow. Can't let those Pratchetts disappear...

Leave some for me :frown: I won't be able to get in there until Tuesday, if then.

I really hate how many homeless people there are in Cambridge :frown: I just can't afford to give money to them all, and when they're aggressive it really bothers me :frown:

So do I. I mean I try to give something to the majority of the people that ask, but it makes me feel pretty dreadful that I've been given all of this money by the government to further my education when these people need it so much more than I. So I have no real qualms about giving, but I feel guilty for having the opportunity to do so.

I can't help but wonder what it would be like to live on the streets. I don't think that my satiable curtiosity will extend to me actually giving it a try however.

Had a lovely Advent carol service followed by mulled wine and mince pies. I think I'm going to get into my pyjamas and drink a pot of rooibos and read Pratchett till I fall asleep.

And I couldn't go :frown: Had to sort out my extended exercise with my lab partner, took all afternoon. Still haven't finished as well.

ukebert just walked past me and didn't notice.

I'll buy all the Pratchetts and you can buy some off of me if there are any you really want.

I hate when they do this!! Your DoS does it to us for the subject that he supervises. I always spend all my time on the essay and am clueless in the inevitable 90 minute - 2 hour supervision that follows

He just loves his law.. :o:
I have just been sitting here since my last post.. I keep thinking about how much I want to go to sleep, then realising the time, remembering the essay, panicking for about 2 mins, then remembering how much I want to go to sleep.. :frown:
Urgh. If I start writing now, then I can be done by 1.
Where's Mr. Motivator when you need him?!

I've been going to sleep an waking up super early to write instead this term. Seems to work better for me at the moment.

last year, what marks did you get for your essays with knight? i only ask because i believe he's marking way too liberally.

Never anything lower than a 2.1/1st. He is generally a bit kind.

Tempting but very, very risky. At least I know doing an all-nighter that it will be done on time.
We have DoS meetings on Thursday. I am reassured that every single one of us seems to be expecting it to be an excruciating experience. I particularly look forward to explaining why I'm currently about 3 weeks behind on practical exercises. :o:

I tried that.. but I am having major sleep issues this term. I've turned off five alarms in a row. I don't know what it is, I'm just amazingly lazy this term. I half wake up to turn the alarm off, think about getting up, and end up going back to sleep. With the process repeating until there are no alarms left..

You're not lazy, its probably just that you get far less sleep overall than I do - being a law student. And when your body is constantly running low on sleep then you're much less able to get up in the mornings, obviously, and to handle chopping and changing stuff. For me, I've managed to get eight hours of sleep or far more for five days out of seven this whole term. It means when I have needed to sort something out for an essay I've been able to wake up and work reasonably well for an essay if I needed to. It only didn't work the time where I had two essays due with only one day separating the deadlines. For the second of the two I tried repeating the early waking thing and the result was such hideous tiredness that the essay only got finished at four that afternoon instead of late morning/early afternoon as was the plan.

Yeh usually I worry about the same thing. However I seem to have developed the knack, this term, of writing up 2500-3000 word essays in 3-4 hours  I think I caught it from you :p:

Woo made it to Ipswich in one piece, despite being tailgated but a **** in an Audi during some torrential rain.

They knew I was coming and had my key at A&E reception. I just wandered over there because I had no idea where to go at this time on a Sunday night. Gotta love hospitals:biggrin:.

And woo, free wifi. I also get to live in the doctors mess, which is awesome. Huge TV, Sky, snooker table, and a stocked kitchen all about 20 yards away. It's a bit odd living *in* the hospital as opposed to a 5 minute walk away. I'm down the corridor from the maternity unit and I think we share a wall with the eye clinic :s:

Anyway, probably bed time, as I need to get to the other end of Ipswich for a 9am start at the surgery.

That sounds good  I can't actually remember which ones I don't have. The witches ones for definite, the first two that is, and Maurice.

Heh, this can't be the first time you've run across it, surely  Practically every house has a copy somewhere.

It seems that Audi drivers are often even worse than BMW drivers. When I had to commute up and down a motorway each day earlier this year, I ended up getting slighty paranoid about overtaking them....somehow every audi driver seems to take a peugeot 106 going past them in the outer lane (even if they're going really slowly) as a personal affront and will always decide to put their foot down. And then I end up maroooned out there as my pathetic little car takes a loooong time to actually GO any faster in 5th.

Well it is. I didn't grow up here, you know :p:

They are definitely the new BMW drivers. On my road trip last year, I think we were harassed by more Audis than any other make of vehicle, despite only seeing them for the first few days or so. This stared a trend amongst my group of friends to shout COCK every time we saw an Audi.

Did you watch last year's Top Gear episode around Christmas time, where they were discussing car company themed gifts?

2046 words and just the introduction to go. This means my introduction can be very short, which is good as they're usually terrible.

Then 'bye bye Wollstonecraft' till exam term (or till the supervision on Tuesday!)

Cool. :top:

I've half-heartedly done my Macro essay - it's only 4 sides (with diagrams) but it'll do. Now just a graphical analysis question and a model-based question and I'll be done for Michaelmas.
Woo, that intro took about four minutes. Bibliography, save, send to supervisor then that's the final supervision essay of the term done :woo:

Only my assessed essay left to type up, and that's already planned in lots of detail so won't take too long. Will be mostly stylistic points I need to focus on, rather than actual content.

Bed for me once this is all done!
Epic Russian work done. One piece of work left all term now!!
Last question of term. Hopefully I can get it done within the duration of the X Factor results show. :p: :o:
