The correct url for the script should be "http://www.cam.ac.uk/proxyconfig.pac" If you are going to use that uncheck "use a proxy server for your LAN" (since it will configure it automatically) but do check "bypass proxy server for local addresses".

If it doesn't work then the university proxy server has found your connection somehow objectionable.

If you can brave a huge wall of text on configuring proxy settings you might want to read http://www.cam.ac.uk/cs/webcache/confignotes.html

Eeek! I've got it working now :king1: It was the 'bypass proxy server for local addresses' bit I didn't have. Thankyou!!! Hopefully it will automatically work with wireless now :s-smilie:

Now the next thing is trying to convince Windows 7 to let me have an interface that isn't pale blue :grumble: I've changed the 'theme' and found options for personalising the colour of the taskbar and window borders, but not the windows themselves! :hmpf: With Vista I managed grey.

Because otherwise we'd be out of a job :p:

What fun are you having this time?

Tragic because lots of people are done with work.

Misrepresentation and mistake. Unfortuantely I have 30 cases to learn this week because there are a ridiculous amount of ways people do and don't misrepresent.

weird experience : being completely surrounded by 'home' accents whilst in a different country..

Yet a fantastic experience when it occurs. I have had this several times whilst walking about Cambridge, when all of a sudden about 6 people from home all run into each other

I didn't realise when I signed up for it that being a lawyer is a lifestyle choice, not just an academic subject to study. how irritating.

Its the same with medicine and veterinary medicine, though we were all to aware when we signed up

I've had the true Arts student lifestyle this term - no particularly early mornings, few lectures, comparatively little work; it's been great!

Thats ok for some, but we all are not able to do that.

Just back from Cindies there, was nowhere near as good as last night, hence me being back.

I did too, to be honest, but once my dissertation kicks in I can say goodbye to my year.
I've just made veggie spaghetti bolognaise from scratch and as such am now eating my third dinner of the day.

Sounds good. My dinner consisted of a Pepperami, a couple of Country Slices and a chocolate mousse. :o:

You are an arts student! Any pretense at science is nothing but vain delusion :p:

 And the customisation continues. Finally got all the data across. Now waiting for my new iTunes to import all my old music. I uninstalled that annoying McAfee trial the computer came with and tried to set up the UCS computer protection package, but I think I did something wrong  Userfriendliness wasn't a priority for those guys, clearly.

Now I'm just trying to work out whether I still have Office 2007 or whether I need to buy it. My first computer came with all these backup disks for the OS and key programmes. I don't know if the back up discs included things like licences though :s-smilie:

I'm really not in the mood to go to Homerton, especially as it's just started to rain
I think this is the first time I haven't had lectures right up until the friday at the end of term; this is what it must be like being an arts student... :p:
anyhow off climbing at KK now
