:console: Maintenance broke one of mine :grumble: What did it look like? I've got too many nice mugs I've collected if you want one.

Oh, that's horrid :frown: How did they manage that?

It was just a fairly plain mug with a map of Scotland and the year on it. :o: Thanks very much for the kind offer, but it's okay. Functionally, I still have another two mugs of my own, and plenty others going spare at home. This one can remain decorative, since only a small bit of it was completely shattered, although there's a big crack running about halfway around the circumference. A bit of glue and it'll do a reasonable job as a pen-holder.
I just had all my hair chopped off :s-smilie: Why do I always get the enthusiastic hairdressers?!

They helped me move all my possessions in first year and they handled the boxes too roughly.
Grr, I forgot to go to the SPS library for vac borrowing when I was in town and now can't be bothered to trek back.

Just smashed my favourite mug.

It's surprisingly easy to mend mugs by glue, although the watertightness would be compromised.

Well, that supervision was unpleasant. Another one in 15 minutes that is probably going to be even more unpleasant and then I am FREE.

History of Maths? Dedicated. I should have gone along with my boyfriend when he used to go to those... didn't know they'd be even slightly useful!

Congrats on Russian awesomeness~

We were invited by a friend, and it involved a walk and fresh air and new parts of Cambridge and Doing Something New. It was amazing (and a one-off for me). But the thing is, the mathmos don't advertise it very well. They're just there talking about all the food you get to bring. I think it's an Institution now. But I repeat, it's awesome. And the next one, tomorrow, is on Al-Andalus, so I really want to go, but it's Christmas (of sorts) tomorrow. I wouldn't go to these in the middle of term though, since it's just not convenient - not to mention the whole, potentially 2h length of it.
I am done  Now it's just my tutor meeting :scared:
I did not handle a certain question well today:

"So, where are we, in terms of a relationship?"
Me: " ... I ... erm .... um ... we ... err?"

Anybody going to the open-mic at Caius tonight?
I had an unpleasant DoS meeting due to an unpleasant report written by an unpleasant teacher who I will be having dinner with two hours from now.

This could be... unpleasant.

I'll be there. Not playing, just enjoying the cocktails.

I HAVE BEEN TO THE CMS AND IT IS THE FUTURE!!!

Seriously, how did I not know it was that cool?

i <3 the CMS. it was designed by the practice my friend works for (Ted Cullinan) and it is truly wonderful. i used to spend a lot of time there, when i used to go out with a mathematician.

in other news, the Grad Pad is awesome. its like they thought
'what things would scarlet ibis like best?'
'Good design, cheap, nice food, late opening, newspapers, comfy chairs, internets?'
'Sounds good, lets put them all in one building and call it the University Centre'

I'm glad you like it! If you're there over the next few weeks feel free to text. I'll be around the corner and could come meet you potentially.

I've too many friends who turn their noses up at the GradPad and I think its awesomeness

Yes, where St. Andrews Street splits into Sidney street and hobson street.
Cheers

I'm bored. Any ideas as to what to do, given the constraint that it needs to be in my room and alone?

(I do have more of a life than the above suggests, but I can't go to the bop tonight because of rowing tomorrow, so am at a bit of a loose end.)
