My motivation: the sooner I get the work done the better as it means more time to do social things. Essay complete :p:

Go to a forum for academia to get proper help

You need to go to 'Forums' (second tab on the white toolbar above) and find an area most relevant to start a thread in. As Tom says, Study Help is probably best.
I know it'll vary between subject, but for any 2nd years and above, how much work did you do during the Christmas holidays in your first year?

And thanks for the rep Alex.

Revised a bit of Russian, did a few pages of grammar when I hurt my foot on the college ski trip and then rushed it all when I got back to college. Not advised, but what a lot of people do.

Nothing at all. Not a clever choice... trying hard not to make the same mistake again this year :p: .
Here's my choice for best Christmas song. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. :cute: Also, judging from her recent Facebook activity, I think Craggy would approve.

First time I've heard it. Not great in comparison to his usual stuff, but certainly leaps and bounds better than most 'christmas' crap.

I think my best would be Enya's cover of O Come O Come Emmanuel, which is goosebumpy

Sweet F A. God I miss first year.
Do none of the other Freshers have mocks when they get back? I do, and I am having to learn a load of stuff so I do half decently. I think im going to fail them :sadnod:

I have "in house tests" :s-smilie: Don't know if they are full-blown mocks or not.

I'm so glad SPSers never have to worry about tests or exams any time other than Easter! :s-smilie:

None. Apart from a couple of all-nighters right at the end of the vac to do a mini-project one of my supervisors set.

It's "nice", but doesn't really do it for me.

We had a mock for one of our papers in January last year. It was in the morning and I went to Soul Tree the night before so (partially) as a result of my performance my supervisor thought I was going to fail the paper. :p:
Re Barthes - he's actually one of the most accessible french theorists and also writes in beautiful flowing French (for anyone reading him in the original). He also died by being run over by a van...I think he may not have been killed immediately but it was nonetheless what finished him off.

Strange that Zoe's supervisor told her that then :s-smilie: And shame - what a horrible way to die!
