I was very surprised that Bristol snowed.
I am still holding out hope that there will be some snow in the garden on Christmas Day. It is beginning to disappear though :frown:

Ours is mostly clumps of dangerous ice. Very messy. Unlikely to get anything else. I'm not complaining. Seen more snow this December than any other in my life...

I made mince pies and sausage rolls today  Although I put too much mince meat in the mince pies, I blame my papie for making me use the muffin tin.

Craggy which church do you go to? I'm going along to Holy Trinity next term with a few friends which will be nice  I'm off to midnight holy communion tonight, it starts at 11.30

Yep, I'm at Holy Trinity  There are two really good Caius Fusion cells if you're interested in getting involved in anything.

I'll be coming along on Sunday evenings, unfortunately next term is going to be manic being rugby term and with work, so I don't know how much time I'll have, but I've really missed church and the last year had made me realise how important it is to me

Well I won't see you, then, as I go Sunday mornings. If Sunday's aren't a great time, they do a student night on Tuesdays which involves food, worship, a sermon and a small group time.

Sadly Tuesday is a rugby day (as is Sunday but in the day rather than the evening) and varsity is pretty much the biggest thing in our year so next term requires full commitment.

I totally did not just eat 5 sausage rolls on the trot.
White christmas

White christmas

Doubt it down here, all the snow is melting :frown: It's still cold enough that my car wouldn't start last night though...had to leave it in the car park and get my dad to pick me up! I had to jump-start it this morning, very exciting :p:

I left snowy London and am now in damp Devon. I do much prefer it here despite the lack of snow though
It is still quite white outside here in MK but it's mostly icey snow and has been melting all day, which is actually a good thing as we're having visitors over tomorrow.
We had about 9 or 10 inches yesterday, but it appears to be beginning to clear. Forecast heavy snow for tomorrow though. :excited:

I really do wonder why it's necessary to organise groups of Christian friends along the lines of a Resistance organisation. I mean, it's not as if you're fed to the lions if the authorities find out, or anything...

What if it were a Muslim group that were organising Cells? Can you imagine the Daily Fail's apoplectic explosion?

surely theres a liturgy of the word as well rather than just the eucharist?
I never get round to going to church in term time- i went once last term to founders mass in the chapel (which still doesn't really count as it was after full term and the wrong denomination!)
Going to "midnight" mass at 8pm tonight with a carol service before; should be nice as quite a few of my close school friends go to the same church so its always realy fun to have a little christmassyness (yes i just made that word up :yup:smile: together :xmas:

No but admitting you're religious in most forums on TSR has about the same fate though!
I haven't been to church in about three years, mostly because I didn't like the community that I was in and also grew to very much dislike the religion that I had been brought up in. But I still find churches to be very comforting places, of any denomination.

Absolutely. It's something about their age, and massive stone solidity.

It's always amazing, you see these tiny little villages with enormouse churches that must have had more materials and work put into them than all the houses and other buildings in the village put together, back when they were built.

I live in a village that is joined to another just across the river (separated by ~50m of water) and both have big churches...'tis amazing that people wanted to build a second one of the sodding great things only maybe 300m as the crow flies from the first, considering the money and effort it must have taken.

Now there's an idea! *ducks for cover* :p:

I know I'm meant to think "battery cell, stronger together!" or similar whenever I hear my friends talk about going to cell, but all that comes to mind is prison cell...

I just think of
