Some of your 'technical' terminology had my mum in stitches (no pun intended...) last night

Haha, thanks...I think. :P
I hate when plans fall apart...

I hate being cold when inside.. outside is ok. Inside is like my last haven, so it can't be cold.. which leads me to..
Does anyone have any ideas for how to make a room with no heat source warm(er)?
All I can think of so far is blocking out the window with cardboard boxes..

They say that for each person in a room the temperature goes up by 1 degree, so long as they stay in for a sufficient amount of time. Idea: put a load of people in the room and force them to stay :p:

Alternatively you could just wrap up really, really well. Wrap your blanket around you and wear gloves, hat and a scarf etc. Other than that the best idea is to block any draft by blocking heat being lost through the windows

Hrrm. I don't think I could convince many people to come stand in my room whilst I sleep.. If it's 1 degree per person, I'd need to fit in quite a few, and that really isn't going to happen..

Heh. A balaclava perhaps?
I had 2 duvets + electric blanket last night, and I was still freezing :frown: I'm clearly some kind of sensitive being when it comes to sleeping temperature..

That's why I don't make plans

But I do hate how few of my mates respond to texts, makes spontaneous piss-ups a bit quiet -_-

haha and of course being from N Ireland we all have spare balaclavas wherever we go :p: (maybe not such a good joke after the incident just down the road from me today)

Erm maybe try a water bottle as well? I know someone who was saying to me last term as well that they always felt cold at the start when they were trying to sleep. Maybe its just some people? I normally am fine

Ah but this was a brilliant plan! Definitely was going to impress the person/make them happy. And all because formal isn't on on tuesday.... I really do hate it when plans fall through :sadnod:

mwiko: I'm sure you can find a man willing to share your bed with you :p: Better than a hot water bottle/electric blanket...

This is the reason I edited the gender of the person who mentioned that they always felt cold :p:
Right, first potential pre-term all-nighter of the decade - here we go...
ugh...mock exam = FAIL

Cambridge looking nice though.

Is this to get work done? I got a great email telling me today that we didn't need to hand the work in till the 19th, which is a week later than expected. Not only that but I don't have an essay for Homeostasis/physiology in my mock :awesome:

That email really did make my day :p:
Oh yeah guys have you any ideas where I could book a place for a meal for about 30 people? Without a deposit as well as I don't think I could get it in time. Its for tuesday

Thanks

Yes, it is. And I've had about a month to do it.

Lucky you; I can't see that happening for me.

So have I. I still am in a similar situation to you, except for the fact that my new supervisor for Hom decided I didn't need to hand it in till the following week. I think it is only because she is new and is covering our old supervisor that this has happened. I haven't had to do an all nighter yet in Cambridge

What kind of food / budget are you thinking?

The main thing is that there is a decent vegetarian option as its a surprise party for a vegetarian. Budget wise anything up to about £10-15 for a meal should be fine

The obvious easy choice would be College, either for formal, or a booked dinner.

Places I have been with a large group of people include Zizzi, Pizza Express, the various curry houses in Cambridge (I'm going to the Koh-i-noor with about 30 people tomorrow night. Mai Thai on Parkers piece is nice, and I've been with large groups before. Nandos is another good choice for a large group (assuming you like spicy chicken... maybe not for a veggie though!). Sesame on Hills Road is good, and has a lot of space downstairs.

I'm don't really know much about veggie food to be honest, sorry!

There are loads of other nice restaurants in Cambridge, but are a bit pricey - Hotel du Vin Bistro is my favourite!

Yeah I know college is the obvious choice. We had it all arranged that for this particular persons surprise party that we would go to formal, but it seems college formal isn't on on Tuesday.

Nandos isnt the best for a vegetarian. We were thinking of La Raza or Pizza Express.

Don't worry about it. I don't know about veggie food either-shes just awkward! :p:
