Cheers Craggy and Athena. I'm sorry if you thought I was invading, but I thought it was better than making a thread in the forum that said "Will There Be Anything I Have To Do At Cambridge On The 3rd December Does Anyone Know?"
I'll go back to the n00b thread now (we are obviously inferior to you, but one rung above the '10 applicants).

Its fine, really! We only mind the invaders that go 'hi, I have 14 A*s at GCSE and 4 As at A level, do you think there's any hope for me in applying for Law?"
Well the applicants that stick to the right threads aren't so bad, surely.
What happens whif we get our offers, do we just join in in CamChat? (Screw matriculation, that'll be the real moment we join the university surely).
You're officially allowed to join our thread on the 1st October, until 10th October (transitional period) after which your thread is defunct and anybody who still posts there will be banned from ever joining real society (CamChat).

Unofficially, you can post when you know you're definitely coming. For example if you have an unconditional offer, or after results day (if successful) I started posting in my gap year because I was bored and unconditional.
Ouch! The ballot isn't looking that great. The second year double ballot hasn't finished yet, but the finalists have snaffled up literally every Gisbourne court and Old court room there was. The top second years last year managed to live in Gisbourne. Not sure why. Anyway, ukebert I recommend Fitz street if there's still room by the time your turn comes. Just don't go for any attic or basement rooms
You folks just spam too much for me to keep up I also don't have Cambridge related moans (except that I haven't heard anything from Darwin yet, and I want to know where I'll be living!)
Well the middle of the summer holiday probably isn't the most indicative
I'm unconvinced as to whether Week 5 is actually any worse than the other weeks, rather than purely tradition
Week 4 was the all-time low-point for me, so 5 was comparatively good. And I think Week 5 wouldn't be so bad if everyone didn't expect it to be so and act all down - it's like a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I can see it affecting people with very routine schedules. With SPS, however, you'd have 10 days of twiddling your thumbs followed by 3 weeks of insanity and then another lull, and none of this was consciously coordinated by anyone - so which weeks tended to be the worst has always been entirely arbritary!.
For me, in Lent term in particular, I had a week on and a week 'off'. Like, I had three essay all due within three days of each other, then the next week only had one essay to hand it.
Except my Tuesdays were always filled up and so badly timetabled, and what with Tuesday formal too, I never got any independent work done on those days!

Hello. I'm new. so I'll get off to a good start by posting a funny link - a guide to what causes and prevents cancer (it's funnier than it sounds, promise)
Postgrad camchatters [these are lofty and important and therefore don't deign to some of whome have dodgy floating internet connections and don't post as frequently as regular undergrad Camchatters] . Camchat . . . Unconditional Offer holders . . . . Offer holders . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Annoying applicants

Why not basement, low ceiling? I probably will end up in Fitz street, assuming that there are some left by the 28th
My camera got stolen yesterday and I am still feeling really quite ill. Most annoying.
Well they're nice, but not their best product in IMO. The rum truffles, however, are out of this world
I still have £15 or so of my Fitzbillies voucher left! It needs to be spent by the end of October. I would be happy to use it for TSR purposes

Glad that's clear, ta
On the basis of the offer-holders' thread, CamChat's going to be an interesting place when you guys come in

Week 5 was fine for me, but week 6 was very hectic and ill.
I had an anxious week 5 in Michaelmas but it was more a social, "ZOMG I'M IN A N00 ENVIR0NMENT WIV N00 PPL!!!!1!! " thing than an academic one. For the other terms I was fine

Having just got back, I'm looking forward to the next large scale walk already! I really hope we manage to pull off a TSR Hadrian's Wall expedition eventually!

Having had my camera pilfered at King's affair i can sympathise. On the plus side fitz street is an alright place to live- its fairly quiet and not too far to engineering for you
I think i'm immune to 5th week blues- it always seems to pass me by till i realise its 6th week and i'm like "oh that was 5th week- meh."
