True...but it really does not compare with CoD4.

I really can't fathom why people are so anti-Vista :lolwut: I've never had any of the problems people report. Been using it for over 2yrs now without any issues :dontknow:

After disabling UAC, I've had no problems with Vista for 18 months. :p:

UAC?

Still, it's nice that they tried to introduce some form of security. And stopping anything happening is one way of stopping bad stuff happening.

True. I actually quite liked it. It is almost like the su on linux. It gets annoying having to type in your password dozens of times an hour after a while though :dontknow:

User Account Control - the thing that dims your screen and asks for a password when you try installing anything or modify any features.

Interesting. Mine doesn't ask for a password, it just asks me to confirm that the process was initiated by me.

To be honest, it probably does not ask for a password. It's been ages since I used it.
Mine asks for a password. I don't hate Vista, I just hate my laptop. After my epic 3 12 hour shifts of picking up litter after drunken people I'm now £200 closer to a MacBookPro though

If the drunken people in my garden don't stop screaming - yes they're screaming in unison - I might shortly be lobbying my laptop and other heavy items in their direction :shifty:

call the rozzers.

I think they're well aware, given that they're directly next door.
My laptop I think is beginning to collapse under the strain, which is unfortunate. And I have been informed that vista is perfectly all right if you go through and deactivate all the annoying things, but Ihaven't got round to doing that.

I'm going to India. I have 101 things to do before I go. Aaaaaaah. :woo:

This.
Any OS can be annoying at times but, on the whole, i know where i'm at with vista and can bend it to my will.
OSX or Leopard, i find hopeless however, despite people raving about how intuitive they are, it just seems clunky with too many graphics cluttering up the desktop for it to function easily (not to mention the keyboards missing several really useful functions!)
The only time i have used linux (can't remember which flavour) was in bioinformatics last year and in all honesty i was impressed- it was everything people claim Mac to be- easy to use, clean etc.
I think when i get round to getting an external hard drive so i can clean up some space on my Hard disk i'll probably start running linux in a virtual environment on my laptop as an alternative to windows for some stuff. (and maybe do the same for windows 7 too)

Nah, just for us poor clinical medical students.
