random question:- Does jesus college have its own climbing wall? I've heard rumours of such a thing but i can't find an explicit referance to it anywhere on the internets

I've never heard of that. If they did I'm sure they'd publicise it on their site. Craggy would probably know.

It has a bouldering wall inside their gym. I don't think it counts as a climbing wall. I've not been, but I know they use it for training, so its probably a home made set up with mats and grips bolted into some boards. If it is this sort of thing, then it makes sense they wouldn't publicise it, as it wouldn't really be suitable for a large number of users. If you sign up to CUMC mailing list along with all the freshers this year, they'll send you incessant emails. They train there on Monday nights and seem to go to Mile End on Wednesday night organising car shares. And they seem to go out on rock a huge deal, plus on multiple other spontaneous London trips too. It was quite daunting - couldn't figure out if any of them ever worked
Incidentally if you feel like mucking about at Kelsey Kerridge or something similar on an ad hoc basis, let me know. I'd quite like to get back into it, but probably won't be able to be regular again until I graduate

Yes although I've never used it/even seen it. If Craggy hasn't -Matt- who hasn't posted for a while has definitely used it.
And thanks for the heads up. Do you reckon they'll have any start up deals? May be useful later on this week.
Sorry - the 20% off start up deal has been and gone. By the way there's not that much seating inside - you could eat there but it's more of a takeaway type place. And when I went they hadn't got card payment working yet so you had to pay with cash. Hopefully they'll have sorted that by now though.
EDIT: but there's a 20% off print out thingy on the site I linked to above....
*prints* A sushi-loving friend is coming up for a visit, but he happens to be very averse to spending money on ethical grounds, so I can only ever tempt him to try things if I find them reduced

Yep. it is relatively pricy. But then it's freshly prepared sushi.

Cool thanks- i might email one of their JCR committee. I wanted to know cos i'm climbing officer for king's outdoors club next year and i was trying to find an alternative venue to KK to spice up our weekly bouldering sessions. We don't normally have too many people going so its probably worth a try (particularrly if its big enough for cumc to train on.

I had a look in at the CUWHC (?) squash last year but they didn't seem that welcoming and i have just too much work to manage to make any of the weekend trips (if i do have a quite weekend i don't tend to know till the friday which is a bit late) so i didn't bother joining. CUMC seems a bit hardcore

yeah that'd be cool- I'm always up for a session. we'll have to sort something out when i'm back in cam. I'm living a little further away this year (in king's fellow's garden near the sidgwick) but peterhouse is on my way to KK anyway. (you can even tag along to king's session at KK if you want)
Athena
Moo Moos: like Shakeaways, but better. Sadly only found in Oxford
moo-moo's so good!! I went when i visited oxford about two years back; still have their menu on my notice board and a cup used as a pen holder on the desk next to me.

Thanks - that all sounds good And yeh, I didn't join them for pretty much the same reason. I've never been to Kings Fellows garden. Sounds nice anyway.
two sets of friends - our close friends (also narrowboaters) and some rowing friends - have just announced their engagement. I'm so excited! Engagements and weddings make me go all gooey.
