See above. You?

Hope you feel better soon

I'm ok, just back home from a two months internship in germany, which was quite interesting (amidst a lot of photocopying and carrying boxes), so finally getting some rest now, which is quite good

I'm awfully sorry for your cupcake  But on the plus side, you made someone else very happy  Have you been up to much? Or did you stay in Cam over the summer?

If she is, she speaks french because she was/is on the Double Maitrise. So my question still holds as that's an extra language I wasn't aware about.

I'm just about to go into the second (and last) year of law school, and I've set up a law tuition agency. Currently enjoying the very temporary lull before the start of term! Still enjoying SPS? I got very homesick for cam today, it was surreal..

* is terrified by how much you know about me * :ninja: (was born in paris :o: )

Craghy, basically, i learned german at school. In france, it's compulsory to learn two languages at school, whatever subjects you do.
I don't speak german. My mom is originally from Russia, but I don't speak a word of russian... other than "da" and "niet" (however you spell that)
And glad to see you've been busy

the west wing So you're definitely changing to law then? (judging from your signature?)

There's a strange preponderance of MK-dwellers in this thread, don't you think? For family reasons I end up occasionally spending a few days in MK every year, and I've yet to learn the appeal of the place, other than as a satellite town for London, which... well. Actually, no, I've heard it has good clubs. Can anyone confirm or deny?

(See, I knew I could tone myself down from The Thread.)

* beaming with MK pride * :p:

Xscape has a lot of good clubs, although it gets really crowded

True, it doesn't ahve much character, but its really nice being able to live in what looks like the country side, (traditional english villages, really big gardens and houses), but being 5 minutes away from cinemas, shops, a ski slope, etc. :p:
I really like that. (although bus service is crap )

The only problem is that the center is a wonderful ( :s ) example of 70s architecture :frown:
I suppose they're all good points. If I lived there, I'd find more to it. I live in the actual countryside at the moment, so MK can't quite live up to that, but on the other hand, MK is relatively walkable and has good transport links. That's the frustrating thing about living in a real village: not being able to get anywhere quickly or cheaply except by car.

I agree, apart from the lack of character; I would say that it has its own character. The planned nature of the city separates industrial, residential and green areas so that despite living in what is essentially suburbia you still get the countryside feel. In fact, in the major districts it is almost possible to live without leaving a couple of miles from your house if you wanted, with the local centres as alternatives to the regional centre. Similarly the roundabouts and grid system are extremely efficient - I have yet to be stuck in a traffic jam, even in rush hour. Finally, despite the popular claim, there is plenty of history here - just look at Bletchley Park. In short, MK is wonderful. :yep:

The only bad thing about the roundabouts... is that it's ****** to pass your driver test

Oh my god! Can we swap!? You should see me from time to time, as I always go down Green st to get to Sainsburys. Take care to only throw nice things out the window.

Haha, do you also have sirens and construction work, seeing as I also need these? It's like public-disturbance Top Trumps. If disturbance is such an issue, for you, is there no way of securing a different room? Of course, unless you have more-than-average sensitive hearing this would only place another person in the same position as yourself. I see. Live in a library?

Right now I'm in Parkside, right next to the police and fire stations, so you can knock yourself out on the sirens  And there's an extremely loud playschool right next door...
But yeh - there will be construction noises on Green st -one of the buildings on the corner is currently up in scaffolding.
And yeh I don't think such a room exists for me, unless one area of college is built with sound proof doors and very thick walls. Its living next to other people that's the problem. They should build me a cubicle in the Deer Park.

Is anyone else as overjoyed as I am that a Shakeaway opened the other week? It's genius. A 'Dave' milkshake can't be beaten.

There's another milkshake place by the grafton centre that does the same kind of thing, think it's been there for a while.
