Also am back home halfway across the world where TSR takes about a minute for each page to load. :frown:

:frown: Internet is always a pain when I visit my parents in SA. Stuff like it breaking down for two days at a time and very restricted bandwidth and stuff :sigh:
I might have a job interview in Reading :teeth:

What sort of job?
In an estate agents. Although they can only interview me a 2pm, and my train gets in at 230

Do you have any nearby friends you can stay overnight with? Or go to a cheap youth hostel.
It'll cost me a fortune to get back another day though, and I've already paid for my tickets, and I then have to get to Cambridge for 1130 on Thursday. It's all just a bit of a nightmare. I called them and have emailed them my CV and stuff though so fingers crossed!

I see. Even going to London the night before, bedding with a friend and then travelling to Reading the next day would make it much easier. But meh. Hope you get it sorted. Why Reading btw? Is that where Richard works?
That's where my Masters is.

You're doing a Masters? You didn't tell us how you got on after your exams and stuff, so I'm completely lost as to what's going on :p:

One of the links will take you to a Raven log in, after which you will be at the normal CamSIS front page. Then you'll have to log in again.

It's not that, I suspect that they have stopped my access to CamSIS due to graduating (no problems logging in the first time, but it's said variously authorisation error/invalid username/etc for the second login)...

Well internet here in Singapore is generally pretty fast (absolutely no problem with most websites), but it just doesn't seem to like a number of UK-based sites including TSR. :frown:

My dad told me that I'm going to run a marathon. This surprised me.

If you want to try and test why, you could open a command prompt window (Start--Run--type 'cmd' in the box and click ok) and then type 'tracert www.thestudentroom.co.uk' and press enter

It'll give you a list of the hops the connection makes between your house and TSR's servers, with the time in ms each one takes. If you see it getting interrupted, or a huge delay on one hop, that's the problem. And knowing that, you might be able to use a proxy somewhere or something to avoid that route.

(a more thorough set of instructions here: http://www.mediacollege.com/internet/troubleshooter/traceroute.html if you want)

If my Papie had told me that it would certainly be a bad surprise!

There's a noisy party in the garden right outside my window  Good excuse for extra loud music.

from what I know of him I would say that this is unlikely (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong harr!)

Nice, currently my room is boiling, this is not fun

A neutral surprise. It sounds painful and I run like a mathmo, but at least I run like a reasonably fit mathmo. I always beat the fat kid at school anyway (not that I endorse beating fat kids).

Life is like a box of chocolates. Hopefully I won't be ambushed by nougat.

I'd be inclined to agree, but I might as well try. It's either that or be assertive. (Apologies for loss of colour.)
