I doubt it, whenever I have sunburn it goes brown or peels... but plaster on the aftersun anyway

The pinkness and the soreness will go away eventually.

it will go down. and prob peel. lots of aftersun. sudo cream is good, but it stings a lot when you put it on. its really healing tho, so its worth the pain.
on black/asian skin, tho on most it burns vwry rarely, if u r on med/wear perfumes with bergamot oil/are photosensitive when u burn, if it peels it may scar and turn dark mark like manchas left by eg cuts or acne. this dark makr takes weeks or months to go. if u have this prob wear SPF 50 sunblock like me!!

it depends. dont pick. it should go away. if you pick at it you could end up with scarred skin, that only becomes visible as such when you go out in the sun again - it wont tan, it'll just go pink.

I have sunburn on my neck during my time in America, but this was a few weeks back. Will the sunburn naturally "go away" or can it sometimes be permanent?

The redness won't be permanent but the damage done to your skin will be. Not trying to scare you! I used to get sunburnt all the time, but now I'm really careful and always wear at least factor 8 suncream when I go outside on a hot day. To cure the soreness, use lots of aloe vera after sun that you keep in the fridge - the coolness is so nice!!
