Hey, I'm sure it went fine!
I'm can imagine that many feel it was a bit tense and such, but likewise many of these get offers.

Where there only 1 tutor for you though?

Yes. I think that he was an economics tutor, but I'm not sure.

I think he meant it was ominous rather than exciting...

D'accord.
As this is the last weekend before the PPE test, how's everyone's preparation going? (also, care to share any resources you may have found on the net?)

Not sure. Read and done most of the excercises in a book called Thinking Skills, which was quite interesting. But did the test specimen today, and found it really hard. Haven't checked my answers yet, but I didn't even manage to finish all questions in 90 minutes, which is a bit worrying.

What about you?

I haven't done the test specimen yet! Argh! Need to do it...and I have a Rugby match tomorrow which doesn't help. :s-smilie:

I'll do it Monday.

By the way guys, if you go on the TSA website, there is a seperate section for the Cambridge test, and there is an online set of questions to try.

There are only 10 but at least its something!

Scared much?
Not scared- just worried! Seeing as this is what the admissions tutors will use (partly) in deciding who gets an interview.
PS. make that 'really worried'!

That is, unfortunately, the same as the one on the Oxford site.

I believe last year the average was 63%, or there about, so I'd have thought +70%ish was relatively good. I would imagine that greater weight is put on the essay part though.

Good luck on your Rugby game .

I'm sure you'll be fine. Have you prepared in any specific way?

I'm a bit scared. Before, I were just thinking of getting an interview as a bonus, and I'd be happy with a offer from any of the universities I've applied to. But as I realise this test may be the deciding factor, I can't help to become a bit nervous. I would like to think that the decision is in their hands, but I can't deny that a big part of it still could be up to me.
Oh by the way, that question earlier on about the 5 men who crash-landed on an island and start to divide coconuts, the answer wouldn't happen to be 6246 would it? (6246 being the lowest possible number of coconuts in the original pile)

The answer works when you try it, though admittedly it does sound a bit crazy! But seriously, does anyone what the answer actually is?
*anyone know

I haven't done anything TOO specific, but I went through all my Critical Thinking stuff from last year (kill me now...) and some of the past papers I had.

Me too! Part of me thinks if I can come in the top ~10% of scores in the test, you can already put your foot through the door in a way and gives you a slight advantage come interview
hebe001, that is the right answer well done! No one else got it so far.

hi, does anyone have any critical thinking papers they would be able to put on here please? thanks

It's a pretty tough question to be honest. Though I eventually recognised it was a geometric series question in disguise- I worked out a load of formulas and because I couldn't be arsed with the tedious nature of the question, just put them into excel! (though that doesn't constitute as cheating- just using a more convenient calculator!)

Still, 6246 coconuts- you'd think they'd get sick eventually!
