Anything I should see in Stockholm while I'm briefly there?

Gamla Staden (Old Town), where also the parliament is, is quite nice, and so is the Royal Castle. There's also something called "Kulturhuset", "House of Culture", which is placed very central at Sergels Square which could be fun if you're into art/culture in general. I guess it depends a bit on what you would like to see however.

To the other people here, sorry for the off-topic content.
Hi! In response to recent posts, if (and that's a big IF) I complete a degree in PPE I'll be looking to work in my local civil service, perhaps specifically in policy management/making and stuff like that.

That said, I guess the PPE degree prepares you pretty much for many different career paths (except for professional services like medical services, engineering, research, etc) and is quite 'freewheeling' in that sense. So I would say (nearly) anything is possible. (:
How is everyone preparing for interviews? I haven't been invited to one yet, but is there anything else apart from keeping up with current affairs that can be done at the moment in case i get invited?

Depends really I was advised that because I don't do any of the subjects at A-level, they wont ask me in depth questions. They may assume that I know about Keynes and monetarism etc. but it wont take much for me to get the gist of that info. Apart from that, its analytical skills, critical thinking and stuff based on current affairs. I was shown an example of the kind of models they could show me and questions they may ask, which was a good exercise as I saw how something that looks daunting doesn't actually require previous knowledge.

From your spoiler I saw you did Economics, so your Economics interview will be different as they will expect you to be clear on the A-level course and done some further reading.

I also went to a talk with a woman who talks at state schools and she advised me that for PPE in most college's they are very able to judge aptitude and if your suited to the style of teaching even if you get in the way of yourself. This put my mind at ease because I was imagining the Philosophy interview to be very abstract . I realise what I have said is vague, but really I guess the advise from me is make sure you know a bit about the subjects at least. The more the better especially if you study it but don't study it in a way that you feel you have to say it so anything linked even remotely to it as a question you start spurting information!! I am talking to people who teach each subject about certain things and someone at Oxford who does PPE about their interview.

What do you mean exactly?
What areas of Maths should I be revising?

Ive heard they ask you to draw graphs on the spot

:s-smilie: my worst bit of maths!
Do these maths related interview questions depend on whether or not you do Maths A-Level, or AS?

On another note, does political philosophy come under politics or philosophy? E.g. Might it come up in a philosophy or politics interview?

1) It can do, but as is the answer to many of these questions it can and will vary between colleges.
2)It would come under philosophy.

To people fretting about preparation, I would say there isn't much point doing things like revising maths - from my experience what they asked was intuitive kind of stuff, not things you can practice.

I would just make sure you know you PS and written work and fully understand anything you have mentioned in it, and have read 1 or 2 interesting books for each subject from which you could draw some concepts to discuss, as from my experience a lot of questions were pretty broad so were lead by my own areas of interest / knowledge.

Above all try and enjoy it, just treat it as an interesting talk in areas you are passionate about with some knowledgeable people (easier said than done I know!) Anyways, just my two cents, good luck all!
Heya, sorry to persist with the maths point, but i would just like to know if any former/current PPE students could suggest how hard the maths is likely to get? I have heard someone was asked to differentiate an equation at a PPE interveiw- are they likely to make any more difficult than that?

Opinions would be much appreciated!
Why do oxbridge choose to inform of decisions by letter? Surely that is rather archaic; an email will be more prompt and spare us at least a day of anxious agony.

Well done on your Warwick offer by the way. I was torn between Warwick and Sheffield, but chose Sheffield because Warwick is too close to where I live now.

Top uni though, congrats!
