Out of interest, does anyone know if there will be pooling after interviews, or are candidates now just spread about before interview?


I'm not sure I think they do somthing whereby they give you an offer but not a college

and give you a random one after results come out

It happened to someone last year in my school

I am not enjoying this wait. It is that much worse now that I know people HAVE been given offers :frown:
is it true that the offices have closed without notifying us if we have gotten interviews? it is nearly 7 pm in oxford now, i doubt they are still working on sending us emails or whatever...i dont understand whats happening? do we still have a chance of knowing about our interview today?

i know for sure that PPE interview letters were posted today from St Peter's College as it is stated on their website, I am sure other colleges did the same, or earlier. Oxford has been in the admission business for centuries- I'm sure they know what they're doing, so no one has to worry about it, we will all know in due course.

besides, if we don't know four days before the interview (i.e. tuesday/wednesday) we can always call, and then we'll find out whatever decision they have made.

hmmm...this post is largely an attempt to reduce my anxiety. am not very sure it has worked so far...

I rang today and they said they are going out first class today. So if they havent arrived by tomorrow they should have by monday.

In the unlikely event I get an interview, it'd no doubt turn out a rather pyrrhic victory. Poooooo.
Exeter said the exact same thing to me.
In either case, whether we get the letter tomorrow or on monday, they haven't given us much time to prepare for the interviews!

I am gonna sound like such a pompous ass for this but surely you should have been preparing already. Most of the interview prep is reading arounda and contemplating the core ideas for the subject. the rest is just keeping calm and engaging with the tutors.
Yeah but it's one thing to know your academic-related stuff, but quite another to know how to tackle tough interviews and make yourself really stand out.

stop talking about preparation... im at work right now... tomorrow ill be at an international conference of some kind^^ until wednesday. again three days of work then... and on sunday 6:30 am im gona take my plane :-D...
Just got an interveiw invite from Christ Church. I'm just a standard applicicant from (and living in etc) England, so it suggests that today's the day! It came BY POST this morning, and it is from the college which i applied to. Happy but terrified!
